Rogue One Customs
« Reply #15 on: April 26, 2018, 11:25:30 AM »
I know this is an old topic, but I think I'd rather have all my customs unified under one thread. With that in mind, I'm calling this post Rogue One Customs. These are all more like repaints or updates to paint jobs than all-out customs, but I think they add some needed detail and character to some of the heroes from Rogue One that Hasbro gave to us in 5POA. I used Citadel paints on all the figures; some of them I painted details or put a lot of work into, some just got a wash to make them a little less squeaky-clean. Take a look!

For Chirrut, I gave him a black wash on his bandolier and gauntlet to dirty him up a bit.

Baze got a brown wash, and I added some detail and weathering to his gun and the cable linking it to his backpack.

This Eadu Jyn figure has a lot of flaws, most notably that her arm can't rest at her side due to her bunched up poncho. I also hated her orange-plastic breather mask, so I referenced the Rogue One Ultimate Visual Guide and just painted it black with grey highlights and silver for any metal pieces.

I absolutely loved K-2 as a character, and hope to pick up one or two of the new Force Link 2.0 version to keep as Imperial Security Droids. I gave his joints more metallic highlights, and I add gray detailing to his shoulder sockets.

Lastly, Saw Gerrera. I loved that his character from TCW was brought into Rogue One, and I think this may actually be one of the best 5POA characters Hasbro has ever made. He is just packed with detail, from the joints on his suit to his cape.  Once again I relied on the Visual Guide to add as much detail as I could, and I really took my time on him. There's a yellow cord on the hose for his rebreather, and I added detail to that as well where it sits on his waist. I also added gray, black and silver throughout his outfit/apparatus.

Thanks for looking! I've got one last recent project I'll post here tomorrow.

Great trooper customs! I live the commando, but your paint jobs are excellent on each of these figures.

These are some great paints applications to these figures. Definitely makes the five poa a lot more palatable. Off to share.

You did a great job on detailing the 5POA Rogue One figures.
5POA figures are a good alternative to the overpriced fully articulated figures. All they need is a little bit of detailing like you did.
Excellent work.
