Last night I had been looking at the first group of Poxwalkers I had painted and I just wasn't happy with them so I decided to give two Poxwalkers I had previously finished a make over.  I went over the skins of both walkers  applying two thin layers of Flayed One Flesh, when this had dried I highlighted their bodies using Pallid Wych Flesh to pick out the detail on their bodies.  When the had dried and thin layer of Agrax Earthshade to dull the last coat and for the shade to sit within the recesses of their bodies.

With the coat I went over it using Drakenhof Nightshade, then when dry I layered using Eshin Grey edge highlighted using Administratum Grey.

The boils and maggots I used Seraphim Sepia and then finally dry brushed Stormhost silve over his weapon and the other walkers arm.

I also base coated Lieutenants Calsius with Aboddon black and added the first coat of Macragge blue to his armour.

The first picture is what one of the walkers used to look like.

Thanks Starchaser.  I bought a couple of boxes of these on top of the ones I receive with Warhammer: Conquest magazine, as you can see I have quite a few to get through lol.  As my technique gets better I'm also starting to go back on the ones I started a month ago to improve them, as you can see with the pictures below.

Good morning all

For the past few days I have been slowly working on my latest Marine Lieutenant Calsius.  So far I have given him a base coat of Macragge blue, Retributor Armour for his shoulder trims, chest emblem, on his sword and leaf emblems on his left knee and shoulder pad, Aboddon Black for behind his knees, crotch, head and sword.  When the Retributor Armour had dried, I gave it a shade of Reikland Fleshshade and then a gentle wash of Auric Armour Gold when that had dried.  While that was drying I applied Leadbelcher to his unsheathed part of his sword, his com unit around his head, air vents on his backpack.  A coat of Gunman's Blow for his face and Averland Sunset for his hair.  With his Ultramarine logos on his armour I have given them a base coat of of Celestra Grey and a layer of Rakarth Flesh as a base coat for the two parchments hanging off his armour.

Still got some more work to do with this guy before he is done.

Last night I found a little time to work on my marine.

Turning to the gold parts of his armour I used Liberator Gold for edge highlighting, making sure I didn't go into the recess and paint over the fleshshade I did the other day.

I wasn't happy about the emblem on his knee, I painted over the kneecap with Celestra Grey, while this was drying I went over the over Ultramarine logos with Drakenhof Nightshade.  I used Agrax Earthshade on his hair and Nuil Oil on his headset.  A watered down layer of Rhinox Hide was added to his hair.  Turning back to kneecap, I applied the Nightshade, followed by applying White Scar on top after it had dried and doing the same to the other logos.  When his kneecap had dried I went over the logo with Macragge Blue.

For his sword, I edge highlighted the gold using Liberator Gold, the blade with light Leadbelcher and edge highlighted with Stormhost Silver on the blade and the scabbard.

His face I tried to do a light layer of Pallid Wych Flesh, then over the top with Flayed One Flesh, Pallid Wych Flesh for the eyeballs with Rhinox Hide for the pupils.  Not sure that they turned out OK, so please let me know.

The parchments I added a shade of Agrax Earthshade, edged it with Pallid Wych Flesh and followed up with White Scar.

To finish off last nights work I've added a couple of grass turfs to his base.

I still need to add the finishing touches to his armour and tidy up any mistakes, hoping to have him done by tomorrow.
