It's been a while since I posted any custom figures, after the past few that I have done I felt like I needed to practice and master some techniques of painting figures. With the release of the Warhammer 40K: Conquest magazine which every week you get a paint and some miniatures, I thought this would be perfect to try out and master. Now I know this is for custom figures and what I am about to post isn't really customising to what normally goes on here but I am doing it anyway.
Buying this magazine, a couple of White Dwarf magazines and even going to my local Games Workshop Store (which has cost me a fortune in paints and models
) for a painting lesson, which I found very useful since I have never worked with GW paints before.
I think I am starting to getting the hang of this! I have created a page on my site which contains more images of the ones I've done, doing and stuff I have going on so please check them out. I am also thinking of doing a couple of Warhammer 40K dio's in the future to accommodate this new collection.
The pictures below are a few of my first ever Warhammer 40K paint jobs, which for a first timer aren't bad, if I don't say so myself
. The marines with the black bases are currently WIP, I did a bit of paint work to them while still on spur. Really need to practice the eyes though, which I was given a great tip for. Before doing any work on the heads, start painting the eyes first
! It's so simple yet I never thought about it that way - D'oh!!
