Nice job on the ST figures. They look "official". I would've believed them as legit releases.

Thanks SID, means a lot.

You can't beat a bit of Trek especially with Discovery on at the moment.  Found a guy on Facebook who does awesome customs with the Playmates figures.  He has recently completed his custom Discovery crew using the old Star Trek movie figures.  Look up Star Trek Customs, they are brilliant!

I'm waiting on a delivery on a couple of Kenner '94 Aliens and Predator figures and going to whip up a small dio for them.

It's been a while since I posted any custom figures, after the past few that I have done I felt like I needed to practice and master some techniques of painting figures.  With the release of the Warhammer 40K: Conquest magazine which every week you get a paint and some miniatures, I thought this would be perfect to try out and master.  Now I know this is for custom figures and what I am about to post isn't really customising to what normally goes on here but I am doing it anyway.

Buying this magazine, a couple of White Dwarf magazines and even going to my local Games Workshop Store (which has cost me a fortune in paints and models  :) ) for a painting lesson, which I found very useful since I have never worked with GW paints before.

I think I am starting to getting the hang of this!  I have created a page on my site which contains more images of the ones I've done, doing and stuff I have going on so please check them out.  I am also thinking of doing a couple of Warhammer 40K dio's in the future to accommodate this new collection.

The pictures below are a few of my first ever Warhammer 40K paint jobs, which for a first timer aren't bad, if I don't say so myself  ;). The marines with the black bases are currently WIP, I did a bit of paint work to them while still on spur.  Really need to practice the eyes though, which I was given a great tip for.  Before doing any work on the heads, start painting the eyes first :o!  It's so simple yet I never thought about it that way - D'oh!!

Well yeah, we mainly focus on action figures, but this is definitely customizing in my book too.

Your work on these is fantastic. I think painting in such a small detail would than make action figure work easier? Anyhow your results are awesome.

Off to share this too.

So cool
Amazing detail.

and ....

It’s definitely customizing 👍🏻

Back in college, way waaaayyy before action figures, i used to painte metal Ral Partha Dungeons and Dragons figures.  That’s when my eyes could see that kind of detail.
I picked up the brush again when my son came home with a set of Warhammer Goblins and Dwarves.  Those Warhammer sites have hundreds of on-line painting tutorials.

You can really hone your skills with 1/72.
