What an amazing model section. Bandai and all kinds of good stuff.

Some great prices too. Your stores sure do stock more than mine!

Thanks for checking by, Tamer! I haven't been at SmythsToys here in three months, so I thought, let's go take a look!

Store report: Smyths Toys

STAR WARS

They do carry the TBS 40th Anniversary Collection. The first wave is listed online so I had to go take a look in store! It's so sarcastic that Hasbro celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back only with 6 Inch figures IN Vintage packaging. Apart from the Retro Collection, that's the only super-articulated celebration. At least The Black Series sees good repacks!

For some rare reason they still had the Princess herself as VC150 on the peg! A friend of mine is looking for one, but this card had a slight crack at the peghole - as most cards on the pegs have damage.

THE CORPS!

I remeber getting my Republic Gunship for 39,99€ back in 2005. Is that 15 years ago already? Why can't Hasbro make BIG stuff anymore without 5,000 backers? This Gunship on the shelf there must be HUGE!

Above image:Is that supposed to be a MUSTANG? I honestly didn't recognize it while I was in store...for 24,99€ I think I'm going to get it - Looks like it is to scale!

Image above: Imagine an ULTIMATE BATTLE PACK from Hasbro for STAR WARS...okay better don't it's just too good to even Dream of it. A 24,99€ Price tag? Yeah, gotta be dreamin'.

JURASSIC WORLD

Above Image: This Velociraptor is over 37 Inches long! That makes it almost 1/2 scale! Pretty impressive MATTEL!

Image above: This T-Rex is about 1/24 scale if you're looking for one! 26,99€ isn't too bad I think compared to a TBS figure.

Most dinosaurs from Mattel's toy line are in 1/18 scale or little smaller, which is just fantastic! They do so much right, what Hasbro does wrong at the moment. Hasbro could learn a lot from MATTEL. Both could learn from each other.

I don't even dare to dream of a multipack like this for Star Wars...

Instead, I found a nice surprise online today: Looks like SmythsToys get the Luke & Yoda (Dagobah Training) 2-Pack later this year:

It's funny that you can get two seperate TBS figures there for 49,98€. And Yoda is so small. 57,99€ for both of them plus some accessories feels like a completely fair price *coughcough*!

Found the Star Wars section pretty messy this time around, less space for TVC, nothing new for STAR WARS, but lots of other good stuff...

Less pegs for TVC, more lightsabers- is this the beginning of the end?

Jurassic World

Toy Story 4

...is there 4 already? Seems to sell well!

New LEGO Harry Potter Sets hit! Plus some old sets & cool LEGO CREATOR sets!

playmobil got the taste of licenses, too!

Smyths Toys online

TVC rises, TBS falls...in price at Smyths here in Germany.

Only 1€ difference is left between TVC and the cheapest TBS figure, now. The price for TVC increases once again and I sit here shaking my head in disbelief.

An friend of mine found the latest TVC wave in store nearby:

man the price of a tvc action figure today makes you wonder how long collecting will continue. I would hate to be an army builder. Guess there is always tunghori.

I agree, Shawn! And even tunghori takes more than MRSP for his loose samples by now. That's why I keep going to rummage sales once in while. This is where the fun is still at:
This jumble sale is on the first Sunday each month. I like going there, but I never took pictures. Until today.
It was a travel back to the 90's...

Remember this Hasbro logo on those Action Man toys?

STAR WARS Hasbro Action Toys

There were only 4 or so other vendors with toys like cars, animal figurines, LEGO, playmobil, some trading cards etc. But I didn't take more pictures. Next time I go, I'll take more.

Whenever I see some Hot Wheels cars, I think of LETS GO PICKIN' on YouTube:

I became friends with the seller. He always got awesome stuff and here is what he got for me today:

I had never seen this Colonel Vogel anywhere before, but knew it was an Indiana Jones figure from Hasbro the moment I saw it. He is offered for $20-50 in the bay...

Thanks Tamer! I was really glad to see Peter after months! Meanwhile he lost over 54 pounds and he is quite happy about that achievement in times of pandemic. He told me that this was the rest of a collection he bought for 5,000€ - so he paid 2.50€ per figure. The collection also included some Comic Pack figures like Quinlan Vos and Ulic Qel-Droma, which he sold for 80€ each again. I wish I had taken pictures earlier. He had 4 big boxes with hundreds of figures...

But he is missing the fairs - if the pandemic lasts much longer, he'll go broke he said, because he used to sell most stuff on conventions in Germany and Belgium...

P.S.: I also added the most recent video from LET'S GO PICKIN' - he also found some STAR WARS figures this time around. Make sure to check him out and consider to subscribe.

Store report: Smyths Toys

Krefeld, Germany

Fri, August 14, 2020

Right at the entrance there was the SALE isle:

STAR WARS & TRANSFORMERS

The Mission Fleet Vehicle assortment hasn't hit shelves here, yet - so NO MANDO so far...

The amount of TVC figures just blew my mind! 4 Shadow Stormtroopers and even 2 Phase I Clone Troopers remained of the Mando wave, Sith Jet Troopers, a bunch of Jawas (5) and the photo-real updated wave - ALL ON PEGS! Such a pretty sight to see...

Waves 1 & 2 of the 40th ESB Black Series line plus Phase III - even a Mando waiting to be sold!

Other Action Toys - that GIANT GODZILLA is 69.99€:

Some new arrivals hot off the truck - can you hear the Jingle Bells already?

And this is what I got for 53.98€ ($60.45):

The photo-real print reminds me of some 3D printed figurines with facial scan , which are sold by some local stores and copy shops here...

Next to Smyths Toys is PRIMARK, very nice and clean, where I found some nice Tees for 10€ each:

Didn't buy them because the print is quite fragile. After being washed several times, the print will soon get cracks.

Another dollar store had the Hot Wheels M Case for 2020, so I got a couple:

Also went to a discount store and even found some STAR WARS there:

If you're looking for artificial plants, these are an option, but also the most expensive ones. Those little trees were actually not bad for 4.99€:

If you're looking for other cheap parts to use for your dioramas and other projects, you might want to check out this topic here:
