Store report:
Intertoys
Venlo, The Netherlands
Wed, Dec 15, 2021
Today I had a date with a very special person in Venlo. And I took the occasion to also take a look what's on shelves there. Didn't want to open a new topic for my short trip to the Netherlands. But if there are any Dutch fans lurking here, feel free to do so!
Star Wars toys by Hasbro were astonishingly absent, but I still had a wonderful day. It's been 12 years since I've been there. Venlo has a beautiful downtown. Take a look yourself:
STAR WARS & other Action Toys
These sets seem to be trending at the moment.
Model Kits
LEGO & HotWheels
I also saw some nice cars today! Master Card for example:
Or this BMW Z4, very slick!
Bikes have their own roads here!
Before I drove to Venlo, I stopped at a dollar store here in Germany and found these Matchbox cars for...you guessed it 1€ each. And what's even more special to me are the NYPD cars! These are so expensive in 1/18 or 1/24 scale so I'm beyond glad that Mattel got the license! I took 3 and left one for the next collector/kid. Man, these Ford Interceptors look sharp!

LEGO rules. So glad I didn't get into it though. I would be broke.
They do make all the cool sets though.
I wish their Star Wars Brand Team would talk with the Hasbro Star Wars Brand Team.

That's true. LEGO have made some really cool sets over the last couple decades. They make the Battle Packs and vehicles I wish Hasbro would make as well...
Today I was at two local Dollar Stores to get some new socks and HotWheels cars.
Imagine walking in a single store and finding more than a hundred cards of TVC figures! This aisle turned out to be quite a treasure trove. I took a Batmobile with me because I find those vehicles very cool! When I got home to take a closer look at the models I got, I learned that I found my very first regular Treasure Hunt out in the wild. If I had known that the '55 Chevy is the Super Treasure Hunt, I would've looked for it. I'm very happy with the A case for 2022, which I found today:
29 cars for 29€ including my very first TH.
Should I be glad that Hasbro is not the only manufacturer with quality control issues?
You can see

Take a look of our reference thread where to find
artificial plants
and other materials for your dioramas fairly cheap

Your Dollar Stores look nice and neat. Mine look like Hurricanes have gone through them and are so crowded you can fit a buggy through the aisles.

Store report:
Smyths Toys
Super Stores
Dresden, Germany
Wed, Jan 12, 2022
Star Wars
The Vintage Collection
Black Series
WWE
Wrestling seems to be BIG here! I remember it was strong back in 2006. Telling by THIS amount of merch in a toy store it looks like it's stronger than EVER BEFORE! It was on the German news just today to inform people about the basic stuff/vocabulary one needs to know about Wresting.
Jurassic World
The level of detail and quality of paint applications become better with every new release. Mattel certainly shows what they're capable of.
MOTU
Military & Alien
I still wish Hasbro would provide us a Republic Gunship for under 50€ like they did back in 2005.
HotWheels
LEGO

Wow, another awesome report.
I think I would get half faint if I saw TVC Pegs that wide and full. Man, I am envious!

SmythsToys Germany has Princess Leia (Yavin 4) in stock at the moment. She's only available online so far while all other figures of this wave are listed, but currently out of stock.
This is interesting because Wave 31 of The Black Series is supposed to arrive in April at StarActionFigures in the UK for example.
This is such a beauty of a figure and probably the best likeness of Carrie Fisher Hasbro have ever done so far! I can only hope their ANH Princess Leia for The Vintage Collection will meet this level of likeness and accuracy!

Wave 37 of The Vintage Collection is supposed to arrive by the end of January in Germany and the UK alike and man am I looking forward to seeing this wave on pegs!

Looks like SmythsToys are going to get some of the George Lucas in Stormtrooper Disguise!
They listed him for 26,99€ while he is already sold out everywhere else online for 31,99€ or more.
The upcoming wave of TVC figures has been added as well. Yet, Lando, the Ewok, IG-11 have to show up on pegs here not to mention Lobot and Bib Fortuna. Stay tuned for my next store report next week!

Looks like SmythsToys have raised the price from 26,99€ to 33,99€ right when he went on sale on February 2. And according to their online in-stock system he is supposed to hang around 7 times in Dresden!
Can’t wait to take a look next week.

Store report:
Smyths Toys
Super Stores
Düsseldorf, Germany
Thu, Feb 3, 2022
I went to another store last night. Much was on sale! But it gave me a bad feeling even before i saw how much the actual Star Wars section has shrunk…
CLEARANCE
STAR WARS
It was great to see that figures of The Mandalorian are still available in both scales. Especially with the latest two episodes of The Book of Boba Fett!
Interesting to note here is that they always have one figure more on pegs as their online inventory shows…so it’s Kuill who joined the pegs on Tuesday or Wednesday!! Woohoo
ALIEN VS. PREDATOR
Jurassic Park
LEGO
CLEARANCE
There's a dealership for Lamborghini right across the street at the Forum Düsseldorf. Wasn't aware of it!
