Thanks for your feedback, gentlemen. I do hope you can secure some of those R1 Stormies for yourselves! No need to mention how awesome they are. I managed to get four carded ones so far, but no loose Stormtrooper, yet. I hope tunghori will get some more some day...

When I was back home I went to my local Comic Shop - always nice to step by there.
Also nice to see older figures hanging on pegs going as far back as 2002...where did all the years go?

The Current State of the Brand

So on Friday I went on a toy hunt for my birthday. It's been a busy weekend so I didn't get to share what I found earlier.

But here it is: I went to

- Müller
- SpieleMax
- TK Maxx

Wanted to go to Smyths, but it was a little hot and people are tired on Fridays and I didn't want to risk any drama or accident.

Müller

Zuvio - 4 times - anyone in for 8 bucks?

Jurassic World

Clearance Aisle

It's sad to see that STAR WARS has become a clearance brand since Disney bought the franchise. The evidence is found everywhere!

SpieleMax

-
-

G scale model trains

TK Maxx

-

KARSTADT

My cell phone was running out of storage here, but I needed to take a picture of this here:
To me it best shows how much damage Disney caused to the franchise! The card games on the right were released back in 2005 already! And they STILL sell at 4,99€! The prices for OT & PT related products are stable!
That TFA card game has a MRSP of 9,99€ - no need to mention it's double the price - and is now on clearance for 2 bucks! Nothing more to say.

And on my way back I saw this nice object here:

It might actually belong to Iron Man...

So I had a nice birthday with some toy hunting and good ice cream.

Another very informative store report.
It is interesting to see how they sell off the Solo Prequel stuff.
I love the pic of the comic store. Makes me nostalgic.

Tamer: Indeed! I wish the shade would’ve been less though. The paint of that bike just looked brilliant - like Iron Man’s armor...

FialaFernbrugg: Thanks for coming by my friend! It’s good to see you back around. I actually have much more to show you. Many pictures to share, but more on that on Thursday...

Have a good & safe weekend gentlemen!

STAR WARS action toys have become THAT popular here in Germany, you even have to look for them! They're hidden well! Or have vanished completely...

Interesting shot of the one FO Stormtrooper with his head on backwards. Pretty cool.

Think that was factory or someone replaced a figure?

Good mornin' and thanks Tamer! I'm pretty sure this is another tale of bubblegate! I supose this one fell off the card, a customer found it and an employee re-attached the bubble with tape. Or a kid ripped the bubble off the card and his/her mom didn't want to buy it. Could be a thousand different stories. The ending is: The tray is reverse, now.

Needed to catch up on this topic a bit...sorry for the delay.

Store report: Smyths Toys

Essen, Germany

Fri, Oct 25, 2019

Today after work I stopped by at Smyths Superstores in Essen. And let me tell you this was the saddest and most disappointing* visit there since they bought Toys "R" Us Germany...
Last time I've been there was about 8 years ago...

*only regarding the Star Wars aisle with Hasbro's products.

The depressing TVC selection:
1x Zorii Bliss
1x Rey (Island Journey)
1x Snoke
1x Rey (Jakku)

for 17,99€ each...truly ridiculous!

TBS
11x Zuckuss
That's it.

Other than that: 5 inch GOA figures and roleplay toys - seems they will reduce the Star Wars aisle to lightsabers only, soon.

Folks for being a movie year, this is beyond alarming! I think the state of the franchise couldn't be more devastating. I don't know why Hasbro produces so much trash. By now I even think Disney are not the only ones to blame for so much harm to the brand. So much bull**** happening...

Remember when Hasbro had a selection like this for their Star Wars brand and everytjing was actually available at brick & mortar?!

That is the smallest Star Wars section I've seen in a Smyths store so far.
Even the stores here in Austria have a better assortment.
Thank you for sharing.

Tamer: Indeed, and the Knight of Ren seems to sell best. Not surprising at all! Nobody knows much about the Kngiths. They're mysterious and threatening looking. Bad guys just sell and that's what Eric agreed with on Comic Con. Hope to see more Sith Lords in the future. And I'm going to get the Knight of Ren, too to use him for a Knights of the Old Republic custom/character.
On my most recent run I hardly saw any TVC figures - they either sold right through or never arrived. TTBS is even found at real,- again.

FialaFernbrugg:
Yes,  things have changed for Star Wars since Disney took over and Smyths bought Toys "R" Us. Apparently not for the better...thanks for your comment.
