Dag's hack-job customs

I am by NO means good at customizing figures (especially painting them), but the state of the SA Star Wars line and the likelihood of us not getting the core members of the Rogue One team has sort of forced me to make my own. So, here we go!
First up? Baze. Obviously still a work in progress. I took the Rebel Ground Crew figure's body, did a head swap, and then spent some quality time with the dremel, hacking that chest armor off. I also made a slot in his back for the back piece to hang. I still want to swap out his hands, paint the suit the proper color, and add some of the little armor bits and pouches, but the base is there. I also want to swap out the plastic cape for a soft goods one, just so it can move a little.

I plan on going back tonight and cleaning up some of those edges and paint them up a little bit. Right now, the armor pieces are just kinda tacked on there to test the fit. After that, I'm going to try and cut out the leg armor from the original figure.

Thanks guys! Moving onto the next!
K-2S0 is like the biggest tease in terms what LOOKS like there should be knee and elbow joints. I tried hacking up some spare droid parts I had laying around at first, but it kind of screwed everything up. Then, I realized I have a bunch of spare wrist pegs for Hot Toys figures laying around and they work perfectly (at least for his knees.) Still figuring out the arms. Might pick up a spare IG-88 and use his arms so this guy can actually bend at the elbows. Then it's a simple matter of painting the joints and boom! Done!
Also, I kind of want to photoshop a fishing pole in the second picture...

what a great idea using the Rebel Ground Crew figure so much better ! love the upgrade to K-2S0 as well that has been a big issue for me is putting articulation on droids that dont have like 8d-8 and ev-9d9 , you pulled it off nicely ! great job

Thanks, man! I'm just waiting on the Bodhi figure to come out. That RGC figure is going to get some serious use with these guys. Now if they were only cheaper...

Nice customs Dag Marus, love the idea of using those spare ball joints on the droid, fully articulated customs are always a plus in my book

Wow, time to go make your K-2SO famous. It looks great and is awesome to see the movement in it.

New one in progress.
Chirrut Imwewe is mostly the Resurgence Luke body to keep his shorter stature. (If only Jyn were the proper height!) I'm using softgoods for his lower body (which will thankfully cover up any scraping at the knee joints. Still working out how I'm going to attach that to the figure, but I like the look of him so far. I also intend on grinding down a bit of that left forearm and attaching his gauntlet. I debated on trying to find a cheap SA Fett to steal the arm, from, but I doubt I can find one for cheap enough. So, here's hoping a little dremel work will take care of the issue!
