Small update on the Clone Commander concept. I had to fix the antenna because it broke off. I'm glad I listened to the advice from FialaFernbrugg!

Yesterday, I went back to some w.i.p. projects and worked on some Troopers of the Empire and the Republic. I decided to refine the Clone Trooper Commander, which I spontanously made on Easter 2019. The antenna broke and I couldn't find it, so I fixed it with wire. Shouldn't happen again and a big thanks goes to FialaFernbrugg for the great advice.

I also recognized that I hadn't shared all the pictures yet, which I took a year ago! So here they finally are:









UPDATE:










As a result of this color scheme I came up with the idea of a Tactical Rescue Commando

Hey Philipp, I really like how this commander turned out. Good job on the antenna fix. I always thought that Bacara helmet was a cool design. Great job!

The Commander Bacara style helmet is a really underused and underappreciated design. Great work fixing that God awful antenna.

Tamer: Thanks so much, Tamer! I posted the update the day I modified the helmet. That was when I also realized that I hadn't shared this Trooper concept properly before. It was about time! Still so many projects to finish...

hemble: Ron, it's always great to read your comments! Thank you so much! I'm happy as hell that I listened to FialaFernbrugg right away! It was his suggestion to use wire. I wanted to go with a resin rod (it was actually a casting rest) first. But I'm sure it would've broken off, again.

nicketcd: Hey, it's an event reading your comment! Thank you very muh for coming by to check them out! I often see your name here, but you haven't posted much if I know correctly. This makes it even more precious now. I thought why not highlight the details that are already there? Hasbro really did a good job on the Clone Troopers back in the day.



Starchaser: I agree! The blue Clone Commander that came with the Coruscant Troopers Battle Pack really fascinated me! Clone Troopers put a strong magic on me when I was 12 anyway. The helmet design truly is a great one. Thanks for coming by buddy!


RC-1136: Hey, it's good to see your comment here! Thanks for coming back to my thread! I agree 100%! The helmet design is awesome! Lucasfilm and Hasbro could so much more with it. Yeah, the antenna can look kinda weird. I wouldn't have modified this one if it hadn't broken off. I'm working on another one using this helmet, so stay tuned for more of this design and tell me if you need some of it as resin casts, too! Thanks again and best wishes to you in these crazy times!

Got no time to make customs myself at the moment. But I found this custom figure of Moff Gideon on ebay and for 10€ I couldn't pass. The customizers name is Jens and if you like the TV show as much as I do, you might want to check out this custom figure from The Mandalorian:

Recipe:

Head: TAC/TLC TIE Pilot (modified with dremel and painted)
Torso and arms: TIE Pilot (fingers painted on gloves)
Skirt, legs and boots: Grand Moff Trachta (TLC Comic Pack)
Rest: Darth Vader (shoulder armor)
Darksaber: modified and painted lightsaber












I'm just blown away by the likeness of Giancarlo Esposito. My respect goes to the maker of this custom.
