I haven't heard someone mention a gimlet in ages! That's too fun.

Yeah, it's been a while. That's what my translator showed me for hand-drill. Looks like a nice drink, too! hehe

Cheers!

It is crazy how sometimes the bulk of the drill will interfere with where you want to drill and this takes care of a lot of those troubles. I used this to great effect when I was making cabinets for my man cave, ah back when it was not a cluttered mess.

Very true in this case. I'd love to see your cave! I finished the 4th of 16 cabinets today. Only took me two evenings. 8 holes hand-drilled took me forever. But I took my gimlet with a smaller diameter to drill the first hole. The second drill at 5 mm was much easier that way.
And this time I drilled the other 8 holes in front with an electric drill.

A really great looking display! You don't have to worry too much about figures falling. Just be careful opening the doors.
I think that drink is a Kamakazi, basically a vodka daquiri/margarita.

Well, that's what google showed me when I looked for pictures of a "gimlet"... ::)
I mean you're the expert on drinks and I'm going to have one on you tonight, JD!

I say kamakazi because there's a bottle of Tito's vodka in the background. Gimlet is the exact same thing but with Gin. All you really need to know is about 5 different recipes and basically every drink stems from those.

Looks great and think of all the dusting you won't have to do.

True, these cabinets are as good as sealed. Shouldn't collect too much dust over time.
But drilling those holes by hand was a definitely a self-punishment!

Look Sir, Droids!

I used the time on May 4th and 5th to get some figures out of the box. It's been a busy week and I'm glad it's Friday. Felt like digging out all my Astromech Droids. Still think I missed a couple. Who I definitely miss being around is forum member wraithnine. Does anyone know how he's doing? Haven't heard of him in ages. To me he's the guru of Astromech Droids. His customs always inspired me. Be sure to check out his thread as well.

Wow that is a lot of Astro Mechs. Nice.

I do see W9 posting on FB from time to time, but not for awhile now.

Tamer: Thanks for letting me know! I was actually slightly worried. I found him on Instagram and he also reacted to my post.

And yes, those colorful fellas bring a lot of joy! Thanks for coming by.

Sir...MORE Droids.

I added all other droids I could find. Love those variety of different robots in the STAR WARS universe. It's also nice to have some gaps to fill in the future.

A mix of figures from my favorite lines (TAC-TVC) and all customs I could find. Not all are done by myself and few others of mine are missing. My goal is to fill an entire cabinet with customs only made by me. That should hold up my motivation this year!

You are seriously making me want to make some loose display cabinets like this. So cool seem them all lined up like this and seeing the themes you pick.

Love the droids.

Tamer: Dew it! It's fun! EL

I had a 10 hours ride across the country yesterday and picked up 10 model cars on my way for 10 bucks each. They're all 1/18 scale and with Hasbro's current price hikes for everything, I'm tempted to quit and collect some die-cast model cars instead. Feels like more bang for the buck.

Those are amazing for $10 apiece. I particularly like the white convertible Beetle. It looks like a '66. We are sentimental about convertible Beetles. My wife has a white '79 Super Beetle.
