Excellent work these figures, they look great. Thanks for sharing your "work-around" with us as well.

Sorry for the late reply! I agree, this is a brilliant idea! Thank you for the detailed description & for sharing! Yeah, that yellowing is a true pain in the neck - especially for (rare) troopers you only have once in your collection...I already wrote my deep concerns to Hasbro Germany. They told me I should write Hasbro USA on Rhode Island because they are not in charge for design & development. So I did. But Hasbro's system recognizes that I write from Germany and automatically re-directs my messages to Hasbro Germany...very funny Hasbro. Anyhew, I'll figure something out and share my thoughts on this in another thread, soon.
Your squad of Spacetroopers looks fantastic! You've done an excellent job on all the modifications. I think we all knew you would easily find a good use for those TVC Stormtrooper bodies...

I was able to get a Jabba's Skiff Guards three-pack for $21 at a local shop's Christmas party.  This let me finally hack up a Sgt. Doallyn figure without stressing about the cost.   ;D

I sanded the neck post and Dremeled the head.  Here's a comparison of the modified post and an original.  It took a lot of sanding and a lot of MST3K episodes, but I ended up with a nice fit and good range of motion.

The recurring nightmare:

On the subject of nightmares, I tried to piece together an upgraded torture rack Han.  It's a TVC carbonite Han with the jacket, arms, and head from the TAC torture Han.  The TAC Han has a hard plastic torso and the arms are held in by large flat discs instead of pegs, so I cracked the torso and sanded the discs into pegs so they'd fit in the new torso.  The inner jacket has sculpted grooves/channels that fit over the original torso, so I sanded down the new torso to fit in the recesses and let the arms assume a near-normal relaxed position.  Other than the weirdly angled scurvy-leg sculpt, the new figure's main shortcoming is a neck that's too short, but I'll take it over the original. A better pair of hands is in the works.

I also Dremeled a stormtrooper Han alternate head for the "My friend" and subsequent Wing Guard hickory shampoo scene.

Speaking of stormtrooper Han heads, I threw one on a TBS Dutch Vander.  I've got to believe that Han was able to con stick time in a T-65 at some point.

Thanks for looking - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Great Doallyn. I like him a lot. Those Hans are nice too. I think I like the pilot one the best. Off to the front pages.

Creativity: 0/10
Mindless tedium: 12/10

I've been on a troop-building kick lately and decided to go from five to ten black jumpsuit techs. Same recipe, disassembly/joint prep/Hi-Tech spray dye/repaint details. Head swapping is limited by the scarcity of Imperial Navy caps.   :)

"They're very pretty, but can they fight?"

Thanks for looking!

Mindless tedium only 12/10? That's a lot of joint prep. They look so clean though- well done! ;)
