I love how that single color added as a dry brush wash brings out so much of the details.  Any chance you got a before and after comparison pic that you could throw up for us?

Wow, it's like you read my mind! (or maybe I actually posted that I wanted to know how you did the paint job, haha) That's awesome that it's basically just a one-color wash... I did those to all my rebel action fleet ships, and it made them a thousand times better! I really want to get that falcon now and paint it right, it looks so awesome after the wash! What kind of color was it that you painted it with? I always just used flat black on my action fleet ones... is it more blue or metallic than plain flat black? Great video!

Oh awesome! Thank you so much! Yeah, I heard the name of it in the vid, I was just wondering if it's something I could mix out of basic colors... I'm as cheap as you are about materials cost, so I always try and mix up paints for big jobs if I can rather than buying new ones (like my battle droids and guri). I'll probably check my local supply stores around here, but I don't know where I can find Revell paints off the top of my head. If I can't find it, does it look pretty much like this in real life?

http://www.emodels.co.uk/plastic-kits/revell-14ml-anthracite-grey-paint-p-6214.html

If so, it looks like a super dark blue with some gray added. Does it look like there's any metallic effect to it? I only ask because the real Anthracite (the mineral) looks very shiny. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthracite).

Thanks again, great video! I'm gonna go try that on my factory-fresh Republic Tank and make it look less like a cartoon  ;)

hmm I knew anthracite should have been important to me for some reason! lol....

anthracite is actually a rock... as it is metomorphosed coal.  Not a mineral, but it realy doesn't matter.

it is very very shiny... as far as the rock goes... and it burns very very well.

but that is just random fyi...

Virago,

In Yorkshire we have a saying "Don't spoil the ship for a hapeth of Tar"

This translates to-  don't cut corners for the sake of saving a small amount of money. The falcon is an expensive piece of kit, so I wouldn't try mixing a colour when a $4 pot of paint has been proven to look good.

(Just my opinion by the way)...
