Pat That was a very touching story mate.... it pulled at my heart strings, i am Glad that there are people in this world like yourself to help in what way you can.
i would like to thank you for telling this story and hope this will be past on to other unfortunate kids not just at this time of year but all year round... well done mate, it would be nice to hear how this young man turns out and weather he will become a firefighter because on the kind nature you have shown to him....

A well-built sniper rifle is a beautiful thing. Ours has two zoom modes, "Up close and personal" and "Hello, you're dead

Well, I guess I'll be picking up an angel off the tree, its the least I can do.

Thanks for the story, man.

But if you want two kids, I might be able to work out a trade...I have two, :)

You can for sure have the girl..the boy, I'm quite attached to, LOL.

Very nice story Pat. In my line of work I see that type of stuff every day, I am lucky I don't have like 100 kids now.

Simon, what would you like for trade?  LOL!  Seriously though, I love this event every year.  Sometimes you get an ungrateful kid, and many times the parents are very crappy about the whole thing, but in the end, it's worth it to see the smile on these kids faces.

Around here, stores don't do the Angel Tree anymore because of legal reasons.  Too many creeps and whatnot out there.  It's unfortunate, I used to pick 2 or 3 off the tree and fill their lists.  My wife's school does something like it, but they're not even allowed to wrap the gifts because they need to be inspected for inappropriate add-ins.  What's wrong with people?

Today, I'm not doing SQUAT!  It's a whopping 4 degrees out there, and I want no part of it!

LOL. I need a day like that Pat, though perhaps not that cold. I don't like shivering much.

That was a touching story, Pat. You truly have shown us the Christmas spirit within you.

Started out at +3 here, this morning. I found out that my sump pump's discharge pipe had frozen solid last night and found my pump running constantly, this morning but moving no water. I had to break the outside coupling at the middle of the discharge pipe and ream out the ice with a drill and paddle bit till I got it flowing again.

Went to Walmart to visit the wifey and found no new star wars figs. I did point out the CW season 1 blue ray to the wife as a Christmas idea for me. They only had one so she snatched it up and made me take it home.

Clint, you are what we call smooth, :)

The wife and I took X to the day out program and Z to her grandmothers, then had Chinese, hit up a wally 30 miles away(Mayfield, Spuda) and then came back to go shoe shopping, hit sams(great googly moogly, got some tater skins), by then it was time to get X.  The wife dropped us off, so we could do boy stuff, like nap and play with action figures while she went to the grandmother's house, lol.

Its been a fantastic day, looking forward to playing some dragon age on the xbox, trucks with X, bath night, then some dr who with the wife, its a really blessed season around here, :)

I of course, wish you all the same.

How is that Dragon Age?  How does it compare to KOTOR or Mass Effect?  It's on my short list, since it's listed as a RPG.

I am also curious as the commercials for it look pretty cool,  I always treat myself to a new game every Christmas so this or Assassin's Creed 2 was on my list

Honestly, its fun, probably not as good as KOTOR, but definitely better than Jade empire.

Its huge, the combat is a little tricky, but I finally got both my fighters up in strength enough to get some sweet armor and weapons, so now we are rolling.

Love the downloadable content as well.

its really quite good.
