You could rent out your basement. Folks would pay to have all that fun.

So it was more auxiliary lighting today.
Asteroids Deluxe got a riser light, as did the Simpsons which also got an upper bar for some back light.

T2 also got a light bar for its riser.

That case, Shawn, was an old retired Walmart jewelry counter/case that I acquired many moons ago. It was wired for a tandem connection to power the old tube fluorescent lights mounted in the top front corner.

I pulled those tubes out and installed some LED tube lights from Menaurds.

I do have the keys to this case and I use all of the drawers in the back to store my loose slot cars. I store them upside down so the silicon tires won’t warp under the cars weight.

I’m not sure at this point if I have that while unleashed collection or not. There are a couple of model kits in there as well.

Sounds like you can have the whole place active at once, that's pretty amazing. I agree with Tamer, you could rent the space out for parties :)

Heck, I would just love to sit in that room for awhile. And suck in all that 80s vibe.

I know I couldn't do that. I've seen too many people messing around with stuff that's not their own.
Some folks seem to care less about things when they're not their property.

However I'm aware that these Arcades are built to bring fun to many different peeps. I can definitely see a phenomenal 80s party taking place in Clint's hobby basement  :D

I also have these older pretty cases set up behind the pinball machines. The one needs its glass shelves replaced and I could use new lock and hasp hardware for both.
Them car models are mighty dusty.

Here is a pack of those light bars I am using. There are several different packaging options marketed by these guys and so far, this particular version contains the best value. 2x multicolor bars, usb powered, 2 x 6-9 foot tape light rolls. 1 x usb extension/splitter and 2 mounts with screws for the bar lights and a remote for $10

I think I’m going to add some under lighting for the pinball tables with the tape lights. Their PCBs also have USB ports I could power
From.

Also, I got another batch of graphics pieces for the arcade cabs from arcade graphics.com.
Pretty excited about these

See that “sorry” in yellow at the bottom? That’s what Bart is writing on a chalkboard. The front of the Simpsons isn’t going to be black for much longer.

It is nice seeing your set up. I could so see you renovating that one display case, SW style.

That’s a good plan, Shawn.

I love customizing these cabinets. Yesterday, I performed a simple mod to T2 to pretty up those wires from the guns that dangle down the front of the cab.

The original coin op T2 had the guns mounts on a shelf by the screen and were not removable from the cabinet. While this wired configuration is more comfortable and may have been necessary with the Sindon light gun technology.
This simple mod had me remove the plastic holster pieces for the guns from the control deck and simply cut the bottoms of the gun receiving pocket so that when back in place, those wires could be fed through that hole to be stored directly in the cabinets interior while not in use. Looks quite a bit cleaner this way. I also added a red RGB sound spectrum analyzer to the cabs top which you can see showing action during game play.

I have a couple more mods planes for T2. I had picked up these 5 1/4 car speakers out of the Walmart clearance isle for $20. I’m going to swap the little 4 inch factory speakers in the cab for these. Also, I believe I have a faux coin door coming for T2 as well. And, I’ll probably paint the guns black at some point.

Thanks buddy.
Here is an augmentation for Ridge Racer that I have seen other gamers do.
Using a set of pedal dress up coverings that I found at a Napa for $12, I dressed up the stock pedals on the game giving it a more realistic feel to your feet as the stock pedals seem a bit light and toy like.

Ridge racer also got a Marquee graphic replacement. Got a flexible translight replacement off of EBay and peeled off the adhesive backed sticker that is on the factory LED light box that serves as a marquee and slapped the new graphic in its place with minimal trimming.
I need to slap it in between a couple of pieces of plexiglass and possibly remove the white plastic layer over the LEDs prior to final placement.

I also installed a light upgrade to the under and behind lighting with a red RGB bar for the riser, pointing down towards the pedals and a red LED light bulb for the back, pointing up towards the ceiling.

Man, what a room. Nice upgrades. Like seeing that big tie on the wall too.

How often do you come down and play these? I would assume all your family members want to do get togethers at your house!
