Don's Home Office
« on: April 17, 2020, 04:24:27 PM »
Finally bought and hung some bat-frames for my Vintage figures!

(Yeah, 2019 Tarkin is up there, and a couple of the bottom shelf figures are SLC repro.)

Some work to go; I'm short a few figures, I'm planning to frame that (2005) Early Bird package, I'm planning to add some framed McQuarrie prints to this wall, and I'll be adding backers to the figure frames.

The pull-back shot. Probably going to swap the Barge onto that shelf where the Falcon sits now.

I'm using a fold out table for an office desk while doing scale construction. Eventually I get a grown-up desk in here. The Vintage bat-cases are right of the desk, here's the view looking left over the desk (modern and custom figures).
Two computers on the desk because I'm working from home right now.

Here's the view behind you if your sitting at the desk. IKEA Kallax shelf. I left out some of the interior shelves, and cut arched "doors" between others. Added paint, and LED lighting. Lots more to come.

Great use of those bat frames.
You have got all kinds of stuff going on in that closet.

I'm mostly a Star Wars collector,  but there are a few other things in there. ;)

Talk about a nice set up. I really like your diorama shelf. I could so see you turning that top into a great little dio too. If not the Barge then maybe a Cloud City Falcon or Slave I dio. Thanks for showing us.

Off to the front pages.

A quick office update. I took down these little Ikea shelves that sit above and left of my (fold out table) desk. I gave them a primer spray (pic below), and painted them black. Now I just need to repopulate them...

Finally got those newly-painted-black shelves repopulated! This display will probably change frequently based on however I feel. ;)

This isn't really a 'diorama' update, or a 'custom figure' update, even though it's going to be used for both. It's not really a 'collection' update either, but I guess I can share it as a 'Home Office' update.
Finally made the time and space to build a spray booth for my airbrush!
I used this beefy MDF because I already had it on hand; leftover from previous projects. It's going near the garage window so I can vent the exhaust out the window because the wife firmly rejected any suggestion of cutting a 4" vent hole anywhere in the house (or in the garage). It's a good spot though. There's enough space on the right side of the miter, and I was careful to set the booth far enough back that I can still lay long pieces across the miter (in pics). The booth is not going to be permanently mounted so I can move it if some other project needs more space.
I'm waiting on parts so this is as far as I'm going to get this weekend.

In this one you can see where I've made a good space for the compressor on the shelf to the right of spray booth.

And a peek inside the beer fridge!
