Stars of the Galaxy

Mönchengladbach, Germany[/color]
September 01, 2022

Let's go on a journey together to a galaxy far, far away...

"On more than 1,000m², we will show you movie props, life-size film figures, limited Lego models, lightsabers, detailed dioramas, and an extensive collection of original Hollywood costumes. May the force be with you!
You're allowed to take pictures!"

Here is the source with full English guide to follow along.

After 6 years I went to this exhibition again, with my buddy Florian and took over 450 pictures today. I will add to this gallery from now on until the coverage is complete. If you have the chance to visit this special place here in the West of Germany, I can highly recommend to you to come and visit.

With only 30 km away from the Dutch border Stars of the Galaxy attracts people from the Netherlands, Belgium, France and also from all parts of Germany and other countries across the Earth!

The Ticket for adults is 12€ and opens the door to a Galaxy far, far away...

Stars of the Galaxy show their entire exhibit on their YouTube channel.

This video will give you a good overview of what is expecting you inside. You can literally fly through it in this video like an Imperial Probe Droid!

Staircase to a Wonderful Place - Tribute to Ralph McQuarrie

I find that Turbo Tank hangar really cool! I wonder if this is based on the deleted level of the Revenge of the Sith videogame...

This Venator-class Destroyer was built with roughly 400,000 LEGO bricks! It's astonishing how small LEGO's 8039 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser looks next to this MOC!
And if this wasn't breath-taking enough, it's just the beginning to say it with Count Dooku's words.

Ben Kenobi and Princess Leia guide you to the first room of the exhibition. And a very special set of 12 await you at the end of the hallway, which were recarded by legendary Blizzard Force Customs! I think the life-size statues capture Alec Guinness and Carrie Fisher quite well. And the 12 carded figures look incredibly real as if they were original Kenner cardbacks...the last picture gives you a sneak-peek of what will expect you tomorrow.  ;)

Damn, why does this have to be so far away. I haven't won the powerball, yet, so this one goes on my bucket list.

DarthHawk: Thank you so much for coming by, Darth! I took as many pictures as necessary to make this walk-through feel as real as possible. Yet, I know pictures cannot replace a visit in person. Maybe you can still come to Germany one day. You're more than welcome to!  :)

I so appreciate that you went to SW Celebration this year and covered this event of Star Wars Events.
Maybe I can give something in return with this journey.

The fan community here in the West of Germany is very big and really strong. That's why some contributed their work, ideas, customs, dioramas or even entire collections or one-of pieces to this fan-made exhibition.
One special collection consists of Sideshow's Premium Format figures. Let's enter the next room together.
I hope you enjoy our journey as we follow along!

I can also recommend to check out their digital tour in English:

Tamer: It's a pleasure to! Florian jut sent me the 79 pictures he took yesterday and our galleries add to each other perfectly! He took pics of some stuff that I missed.
I just added them to the post above so it's worth re-checking the Premium Format section.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany.

Let's finish the first room with an exclusive Barbie Collection. Some of which are still up for sale at their shop for 179€.

And have a look at some first-shots and master-painted samples together!

The last time I saw this rotating cabinet was at Celebration Europe in Essen back in 2013.

Next to a couple real pieces of the Lars' homestead are quite a few of masks used to fill the Cantina of Mos Eisley with some starwarsy fellows.

Let's dive into 1/18 scale now!

Move along...

Wow Phillip! Great pictures. What a cool place to visit. Someday I suspect I'll be back to Germany and might have to put that on the list. I love all your shots of the Mos Eisley display. They had some fun building that, down to Bantha poodoo and a 1980's dressed Jawa on  hoverboard. What fun  ;D

Thanks for spreading the word! Glad to see that people liked the post on fb! You're always welcome to visit with your family! Germany has some nice places to discover.

Thank you for checking this thread! It was truly magic to come back to this place after 6 years. New additions have joined the private collection and are displayed in a new area that was under construction back in 2016.
Man, you got a good eye! I was there and didn't even see that Jawa on Hoverboard! If you want me to take any detailed pictures of a specific object, let me know. I'm going to go there again this month with another buddy of mine.

I like building dioramas, do you like dioramas, too?
Let's take a look at some more DIORAMAS!

The Mos Eisley/Mos Espa diorama divides the room into two areas. One half is home to the previously shown Premium Format collection, the second one has some exciting dioramas (and life-size statues) on display. The hallway, that connects all following rooms, provides enough space for further display cabinets. Some ghosts might be hiding in the dark as well...

When you go next see if you can find out how they built the Dowager Queen (the crashed ship in Tatooine). I'd love to have a recipe ;)

Will do! Florian had the same question and as far as I could see it's made of 3 engines of Sebulba's Podracer and scrap parts.
