Mando vintage collection N1 Starfighter custom paint

Hello, the blue cockpit was bugging me so got the paints out ..then got carried away with rust and oil spills  ;D lol (pictures changed 18th Oct, re weathered it so updated the thread as the first version is gone, here's how it looks now)

Well, you took your N1 to the level one would expect for $132! It looks absolutely great!
Some extra weathering makes all the difference. Now it looks screen-accurate from my memory.

Well, you took your N1 to the level one would expect for $132! It looks absolutely great!

Thanks Darth. it's changed since these pics and think i'm going to paint the whole body apart from the chromed nose section with aluminium then re-weather the body with a wash instead of paint. will be keeping the rusty parts as they are though, the plasic look of the body is bugging me. here's what it looks like at the moment, just painted the engines and frame around them

Re-doing a project sounds pretty challenging to me. But the result looks good! The plastic look bugs me, too, which is why I haven't bought the N1, yet.
You really managed to make it look like metal now! The wash made it extra dull, it looks like Titanium to me. Awesome project!

This is where real talent with paint comes to life. This went from looking like plastic to looking like a starship from star wars. Great work!
