Hella cool dio, Wayne. I really wish I could do that kind of lighting. Any chance of a tutorial?

This was my entry into the New Year Contest,

It is depicting the dust off scene from Order 66, on  Haurgab, after they blew the cliff face and were calling for extraction,

I wanted to put detailing in the interior of the gunship to show a dirty environment

Now that the contest is over I plan on spending more time weathering the gunship

The rock is about 12-14 inches tall and was built from 2x4s drywall tape, and greatstuff, carved down, painted and textured, the pics are not the best but I will add some of the stages of construction at some point

From the contest pics, I hadn't even noticed the weathering on the rcs or inside the gunship, Wayne. I really like the cliff. Yeah, I would love to see a wip pic of this.

I think it would be cool to see this permanently mounted to the cliff, but can understand you wan't to remove it. I wonder what you could get that was clear that would support that ship. I seem to recall RS selling vehicle stands at one time, but this just looks great. I hadn't noticed the inside floor weathering till these pics too.

I was wondering the same thing.

You could get some clear PVC rods, and drill a few holes into the bottom of the gunship, make the rods long enough and spaced out enough so that the ship will hold with gravity, but you can remove it also.
I think I'm going to try a similar clear stand with a custom I'm working on.

It can be done, I ran out of time, there are a few ways I was looking at it,  1 was since the base and supposrts are wood and very sturdy, I was going to cut clear plexiglass brackets to come out of the back of the hill and support the gunship,  I may do that, but I doubt I will be keeping this as a display piece due to it's size, It will most likely end up in the attic

Any dio with a vehicle really draws my attention and this dio is amazing!!
Firstly, the base is fantastic. Texture, size and materials used are just perfect!!
Secondly, coming from a vehicle customiser, that gunship is just superb. The colour scheme and subtle weathering go perfectly together. Particularly love the floor of the gunship and the battle weathered turrets.

Great job and congrats on winning. Hopefully i can get a win under my belt in the next contest lol!!

Sad to hear this could end up in the attic, but I know about having too much stuff for the size of the space. Story of my collecting life.  This could make for any type of cool Desert Scene from the CW Ryloth episodes ( I coud see that new atrt on top of this aiming down at some Droids or any Tatooine Scene (Anakin looking down on the Tusken village).
