I can't wait for Imperial Commando myself. I really love the story of the Skirata clan. :)

By the way, Karen is very good at responding to her fans via email through www.karentraviss.com

I've had a number of interessting mini discussions with her about RC. :)
So my biggest claim to fame is that my user name, Robimus, has appeared in the Star Wars Essential Atlas, lol.

Yeah, that is actually me, one of the 16 user names acknowledged by Dan Wallace and Jason Fry. I think I have a hand in both the placement of the Clacis Sector as well as Kalee :)

I actually pre-ordered this last week from Amazon, I need to read this, It ranks right up there in my favorites, I loved the Zahn trilogy but this my push that out of my #1 spot.

I think it will.  I've long held the Zahn books up as the "gold standard" of SW fiction.  Traviss easily (imo) nails the bar set so high by Mr. Zahn (whom I had the great pleasure to meet just as the third book was set to release).  I felt Stackpole and Allston (both of whom I also managed to meet) did quite well with the X-Wing series and "I, Jedi."  Ms. Traviss easily ranks with them and I think frequently surpasses them.

The "catch" - if there is one - is that Zahn handles the movie characters while Traviss handles "support" characters, and this allows an entirely different approach to story-telling.  As such, you might not care for her style.  However, if you like action/adventure writers, I can almost guarantee you that you will love the RC/IC books.

I do like her writing style till the end of the book. Then, I feel there are too many things left haning. I can understand that being there are more books to read, but I am hoping for some type of resolution in this one.

Ah, but the Universe is never a neatly-tied bundle to be easily digested, Padawan!  ;D  I know what ya mean and I figure she'll either be tying off loose ends in the next book or else leave it wide open for us "fanbois" to go off on our own tangents...

I like the Warhammer novels too. Think that is what you are talking about. My avatar is courtesy of one Hangarbay94, good ole Jules.

I'm really looking forward to IC. I read all each of the RC novels in one breath. Fast paced action and storytelling. Only thing that bothered me towards the end was the HUGE family Kal brought together. Of course, in a galaxy, twenty or so people missing is hardly noticable.

I'm anxious to find out how the guys from Delta will fare. They're Imps now, while Omega and others have gone awol.

What are you guys' favourite parts from the novels? Mine would have to be Vau's nearly fatal treasure hunt, Mereel and Ordo joining in on the covert ops on Coruscant and the hunt, capture and finally demise of that aiwha-bait Kaminoan bitch  8)

Also, Fi's near fatal accident and his recovery were intriguin parts to read.

Here's to Karin! Oya!

*slowly grinds teeth into dust*

WalMart had O66 out on the paperback rack this week.  Wonder if that means they'll have the IC book, as well.  P'backs at a discount everyday and THEN an employee discount on top!
