I'm waiting to read the 3rd Darth Bane book til it comes out in paperback, and the same thing with the Fate of the Jedi books, waiting for paperback. In this recession it really ticks me off that they really think people want to spend $25 on a book. Why can't they issue hardcovers/paperbacks at the same time. I have to wait for a year to read these books. Sucks.

I agree. I hate paying for a hardcover book unless its from a favorite series.

I am rereading the Fellowshop of the ring until I break down and buy a few summer vacation books. It is surprising to see all of the initial things I have missed like the Barrow-Downs and Tom Bommadil even before we get to Weathertop! Thats why I can buy books. I will always go back and reread things. I do need to get me some type of decent SW book now. After Cad Bane was zapped and Imperial Commando fizzled I haven't read any more SW. I want action and a good ending!

I read an interview with Christopher Lee "Count Dooku/sauroman" one time where he claimed to read LOTR once a year.  I have done that now for about the last three years running.

Yeah, I've read them twice myself. I can't wait for the hobbit movie. Wish they would have made it first. Better late than never I suppose. I read that about Christopher Lee too. I think it was in Star Wars Insider.

I might get to em about once every two years or so.  There are so many alternate storylines in em that would be so interesting to see more of. I wonder if one day we will see the heirs try to revisit some of these stories and add to them or start additonal novels.

I'm reading The Fellowship of the Ring and I'm about halfway through it.
As do I. It is our lot in life, Master. Shall we find something to kill to cheer us up?

I have reread the series at least once a year since getting it as an Easter present in 1986.
I was given the books because I borrowed them in hardcover from an uncle and took so long to return them that he bought them in paperback and gave them to me.

It is nice to know I am not alone in love for this series. I am almost done the first book where they have just entered Loth Lorien.  I must say I reread that Balrog description quite a few times. One cool creature.
