Dave the figures are sweet bro! What brand paint did you order? One suggestion, it looks like your paints need to be thinned a bit and applied in 3 layers to cover everything. If you paint straight out of the bottle it dries really quick and tends to clump a bit. Give it a try next time and see how it works for you.

Thanks guys. Luke, I'm using Games Workshop Paints. If you hold the figure at a length like you're reading a book they look fine. I think it partially  may be how the figures are sculpted too. With the second figure I did have to give it a coat more as it was a lighter color. How do I thin the paints? I've been painting straight from the bottle since I started customizing lol.

A few people have asked me about this so I will take more pics on the next custom and do a quick tutorial. I am by no means the master at this but have figured out what works for me. I use condiment cups, small paper cups, some use a paper plate whatever you like. I put 2 drops of water in the cup then dip a mediun size brush in my paint about 6-10 times putting the paint in my cup each time. Then i mix it with the brush untill it looks right. To me that depends on what you are working on. Some things you want thicker paint so it doesn't creep anywhere you don't want it to. Then I paint until the mixed paint is gone, cleaning my brush when paint starts drying on it. I also like to start by painting the figure black then adding color over the top leaving some black to define things. If I want something to be shiney or anything white I thin with windex, the same amount as before. It adds a shiney hard layer when you use it and protects the paint at the same time. I know the figures are small and you have done a fine job with them. Just wanted to help if I can, give it a shot on your next custom!

Thanks Luke, I'll be sure to try that next time!

Hope I didn't sound like a douche in the last post, after I posted I was like "that sounds bad" haha.

Dave, I told you your work would go to the FP, eventually...  It looks like Shawn beat me to it, LOL!  Great work, however!

So I'll be working on this in the next few days. It's a TIE Experimental M3, or "TIE Warhead". It was part of the TIE Experimental Project and it's only appearance was Star Wars: X-wing Alliance for the PC.

I searched "rocket pods" on ebay and found these. I just hope they're the right size.

Look for it in the next few days!

Looks like a great project!  I'm lovin' those rocket pods - were they Warhammer 40k gear?  I may need me a set...

Yup those are the ones! The auction said the rocket pods came from the 40k Imperial Guard Valkyrie Box.

Just a little update, the rocket pods came in the mail today. I didn't have any time today to work on it but I did put them together and they are the perfect size! I may repaint them as they are a dark gray, much darker then the photo on ebay had. I hate when they use stock photos..

Anyway I look forward to working on this tomorrow, should be up sometime then!
