Those clones are looking very sweet, as is their ship!  I think I'm gonna have to be on the lookout for those Action Fleet ships!

The cruiser is shaping up nicely, Sten.

Man, there is just something about that McFett fig that I really like. I'm glad I have a couple extra of those.

only thing I hate about that mcquarie fett is both of the ones I got they fell apart at the torso joint.  The peg that inserts into the body just doesn't hold tight enough.  The little hidden belly gun door always falls off too....  not to mention his feet have no articulation....

but the helmets are nice.  I like the helmets... and the flame effect.

Yes I love the look of the McFett's but I wish they were put together a little better. I should have some new pics of the cruiser tonight. I have been taking a few days off from customizing =)

Some new WIP pics of the Cruiser. I will now go back and do some touch up on the tan/grey to fix some of the over paint from the blue.

Then I plan to go in and do some detail work in another light grey to make some of the panels pop...then I'll do some dry brushing, some distressing all followed by a nice wash.

I really think the detail will begin to pop out in the next few colors.

Whoah! I like that blue. Yes, the grey on the panels sounds intreuging.
This one is going to be wrapped up before you know it.

I finished it up this morning. However, it's raining like B here today, so I wont be able to get any good "Glory" shots. I'll have finished pics up by Thursday when the sun comes out again. =)

I had a lot of fun on this "mini" sized project. It was a good escape from doing clones or larger vehicles. I think the amount of detail in the Action Fleet was just right, and the colors and techniques used worked well together to bring out that detail.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement through out the WIP. ISY is by far the best place for customizers in the galaxy!

I thought I would list out the paint and technique used.

Washed original Action Fleet Cruiser to remove mold release agent from factory
Painted on a primer coat of Krylon flat grey
Painted on base under coat of Polly Scale "Yello Grey" (2 coats)
Painted Landing gear Polly S "Night Black" Dry brushed Polly S "Stainless Steel"
Applied same application to side superstructures
Applied same application to main antenna dish, finished with a dry brush of Polly S "Bronze"
Applied same application to rear engine mounts
Applied Polly S "Bronze" to turbine area of engine over Polly S "Stainless Steel" base coat
Applied Polly S "Dragon Blue" to select panels along ship
Applied Polly S "Hobgoblin Gray" to select panels along ship
Applied dry brush of Polly S "Light Grey" to entire ship to bring out high lights
Applied Polly S "Night Black" wash across entire ship, making sure to soak up overage with a paper towel
Applied two dry brush top coats of Polly S "Yellow Gray" across entire ship to mute the black wash some and make some of the raised detail pop again.

As you can see, even the smallest of projects can take some effort. I think I spent about 3 hours total on the ship not counting drying times.

Have a great day!
