Thanks Brian! For that look on her hair I mixed 2 brush fulls of red with 1/2 brush full of brown. I loaded the brush and painted a napkin with 2 strokes to get rid of some paint then painted the raised areas of her hair leaving some of the original brown showing thru in the creases. At first it gace the hair an almost purple look so I dry brushed it with red and that gave the final look you see.
Incom, thanks man, I put everything I had into that face repaint!
Irish Rogue, I would suggest starting by scrubbing the parts with soap and water, then lightly sand with super fine grit sandpaper and dremel down the joints so the paint doesn't rub off. Next I would use model masters primer, it is gray, to cover all that blue and gold. That will give you a clean slate to paint white and it bonds to the figure really well. Then I would dilute the white with a drop of water or windex, since it is armor I would choose windex as it dries harder ad gives you a bit of a shine. Apply the white in 4-5 layers of thinned down paint, again I would use model masters. If you use folk art or apple barell I don't think you will be happy with the results. That many layers will be hard to keep it from clumping up and becoming chalky looking. Good luck!
Thanks JediMerc! I have worked a while to perfect that technique.
