Jules, gad to hear you are into it! I hoped you would be. I'll have to confess Jaxon loved our silver and blue and asked me to do the same. I told him ot would be similar as to not copy you so much and he is happy so far. I am painting it now.
Thanks Stefan, I have the details completed as show below.
At this point the seat is on a magnet so I can remove it for painting. Flat black on the cockpit and flat grey on the hidden cargo hold.
I added some screen to the circular areas on the side of the hull and gave everything a silver dry brushing.
Now I have added some styrene and grating to cover the hole down the bottom of the hull. As well as adding a few paint details.
Here are both sides open for the last time.
Now here she is together and I have made the gun placement on the hiden hatch. I hope when I paint everything it will blend seamlessly. I have also covered the top opening with styrene and a few bits from the fodder bins.

Thanks Beige 4!
Here she is primed in flat black. Detail painting is next.
After the primer coat you can really see what you have to work with. I thought the front top side of the hull needed something. So I found and old happy meal toy watch with an interesting band and glued half of it to the ship. I also created 2 small vent areas with craft matting.

LS, that ship is looking ten shades of awesome. The cockpit detailing goes to show that you go that extra mile when producing your customs. That hatch and top detailing is perfect for the vehicle. Now that it's had the base coat you can really appreciate how stunning the design is.
Thanks also for the wonderful WIP images.

Amazing work! I've been watching this thing evolve into a stellar craft over the weeks! Really some of the finest work I've seen yet! Can't wait to see what you do with the Z'ceptor!

That is really cool! I love the whole look of it and looks great with Star Wars figs too! Kinda looks like something you might see out on the dunes of tattooine. I need to find one of these on Ebay! Awesome work as always, luke. You always manage to bust out with some great customs.

Thanks so much my friends! Ghostskull, That figure can be found early in my custom figure thread. I do need to rephotograph him though.
Now I have dry brushed the entire thing with silver. I like for the amount of silver to vary where some parts are left with more black showing.
and this is the color scheme I will use on the lid, then a dry brushed piece and flat black on the black one. This is a good progression shot of the paint stages I go through. This looks like a pirate ship to me so I am going with some flamboyant colors and style on this one. I also want it to look fast even while sitting still, like a race car or Lambo.
Since I will be doing random paint strokes to simulate weathering and scratches I have to tape a few areas I want to stay silver.
Now that the blue is done, for the most part, I wanted to add the red and gold.
Here she is in natural light.
Now Ihave done one of the engins/steering veins/whatever these things are.

LE,
You've given the ship the perfect paint scheme. Your son will love it as it's colourful and exudes character. I love it too!!!
