Reconsgt's Vehicle Customs
« on: October 03, 2009, 10:46:56 AM »
Well, I will eventually move some of the items from my other thread here but I will start it off with a WIP of another item I have going. I wasn;t going to do many WIP shots but why not.

This will be a speeder. :)  It started life as a chunk of scrap 2x4,

That looks mighty close to the Rebel Combat Speeder from the first Battlefront game.

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

I am waiting patiently for the base coat to dry, I actually fab'd up a light booth, to speed it up, it's starting to get colder here in NE Wisconsin, around 55 right now so my work will have to speed up if I want all my projects done before winter.

I have alot done to this I just need to basically paint and assemble. It is a 2 seater obviously, rear engine turbo, wing set up and cockpit and windscreen are all done.

Pics of the completed speeder hopefully tomorrow if all goes well.

Thanks Clint and the rest of you for your comments

Here is a pic of the first color coat on it, there is 2 layers of silver under the blue, the blue is from a project I did a few years ago, I painted a friends chevelle in a color called electric viper blue,  I will add 2 or 3 more color coats and maybe hit the final coat with a pearl. Not sure yet,  I want you guys to see some of the lines I put into it, I took my inspiration from a cross between a Ferarri and a Jag.  I wanted somethin sleek since we mainly look at fighters or infantry type vehicles I was going for a Coruscant type vehicle some snob may be piloting around or something a hotrodder in the futuer may have.
Keep in mind there is a ton of work left.

Enjoy the progress.

Thanks guys,

The paint is being shot through an air brush,  it's an acrylic urathane,  as for the back side, sure I can do a pic of that though right now it looks rough, the enigine and turbine unit will fit into the cavity you see now,

Nice color choice man and the exact same story idea I had for my speeder last month... too many dirty, slow or armored speeders out there. There has to be rich kids in a galaxy far far away right?!

Can't wait to see the final!

Blue is my favorite color. I'll bet you could shoot a mean model car paint jobWayne.
There is no doubt in my mind that you shooting a good full sized car's paint is a givin.
