man that is a hot hot rod.  nice work on that thing man.  Awesome.

I've done some sculpt work like that in the past.  I think the last thing I carved out of a block was that scratch built styrene swoop that I did.

There was this one time when I worked at the gas station I got bored and took a knife that we had on the counter and a "filler block" (idk what else to call it) out of a cigar box (it was a little cigar sized block that held the cigar's tightly into the box) and widdled an x-wing fuselage out of it... I then took marlbro cigarette carton cardboard and made the wings...  I taped and stapled it all together and hung it up in the office at the gas station.  lol The boss was a big SW geek too.

Awesome speeder man! that came out great! Let's see what you can do with a 4x4 piece next time :P

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

Wow, that speeder looks awesome! I want that color on my car now, haha! You should post a pic of the chevelle you painted with it, I wanna see  full car done in that color! The body shape of your speeder is great, but I think the spoiler / wing makes it look a little less like star wars and more like a speedboat. Just my opinion ;)    Even though I don't think the spoiler works for SW, you did do a really good job on it. I do think it may be a bit plain without the spoiler, though, might need something in its place... can't think of what though, sorry!

Thanks for the comments,  I have a few more ideas and may make a few more of these. I have a split wing design in mind for another one and I want that one in a deep red mettalic,   I will have to get over to my buddies house and snap a few pics of the chevelle.

xv, the naboo "flash speeder" has a spoiler on it. of course they mounted a gun on it too....
if you think about it it would make perfect sense to have one.  For a racing speeder you want it to be light and manuverable.  With a hardware spoiler you can have better manuverability without having to have the extra weight and expense of a complicated repulsorlift based stabilizer....

eh... but I'm getting all technical again... either way it looks awesome!

Started another ship today,  So far it has just been a re-paint of a Joe ship from my lot haul off of ebay.  It's hard to make out the color in the pics, it is not black but a gunmetal tone, with grape pearl inside the vents,  I will be making top wings for it and doing some further deco,  for those of you  that like to paint larger objects like this, get an airbrush, as you can obtain a flawless basecoat tha will appear factory finished.  From here it will be detailed and added to my Mando fleet. Simple but it will fit nicely I hope.

man that looks awesome.  I love that plane and have been eyeing several for a long time... you probably bought one of the auctions I was watching! lol

I can't wait to see what you do with it.  It does look like a smuggler's or mando's ride...  pimp that sucker out.

It'll be interesting to see how you solve the missing wing problem, all the planes I've looked at on e-bay are missing their wings or other parts...

i honestly don't remember the name of it.  It's the stealth fighter... It was based off one of the original concepts of the top secret stealth bomber back in the day...  I used to have a micromachine that resembled it too.

The are several old vintage joe planes and vehicles that I've been wanting to get my hands on....

Wow, that ship is looking pretty menacingly cool! I'm digging the color combo on there a lot... As for these "missing wings," it's star wars, you don't need to give it wings! I swear I don't have a bias against wings, lol. I can't wait to see that bad boy finished, makes me want to do one of those for my Jango Fett figure... he clearly needs a ship, since he came with that flight headset thing.... I know they made a Slave I for him, but I'd rather take the DIY route   ;D

I do see what you mean about a wing vs. extra repulsorlift stabilizing engines, that makes sense... I think it's just the vertical placement that makes me think of a speedboat, lol.

your right about vehicles in star wars not needing wings...  space vehicles especially.  Although, if you think about it most of the CLASSIC star wars space vehicles still had a very aerodynamic feel to them.  Even in the new movies (ie the naboo starfighter, shuttles etc) all had very aerodynamic smooth textures....

but... if you realy want to be technical there is no reason a ship in space needs wings.  For example:  Death star, imperial star destroyer, Tantive=IV, etc....

unless I guess the ships are made for atmospheric flight as well... THEN you might need wings... or realy big repulsorlift engines!

I finally was able to get some pictures taken of the new paint job on the guns for the heavy walker that the Sarge gave me. I put it with the custom painted atsts that he painted for me too. Hands down this atst is my most favored Star Wars item. Did I mention that the Sarge just gave this to me for nothing simply because he knows I love walkers! That the type of person he is! Thanks Wayne, I love the new guns.
