I personally would highlight some of the greeblies.  Esp. the ones that look like wires, I'd paint them silver or copper... and do that esp on the underside of the craft.  remember how the armor of the ATAT only covered the sides and it's belly was exposed and had alot more details..?  that's kind of what I'm talking about.

def. weather the frak out of it.

and throw a couple imp. insignias on there if you can.

then... it'll be perfect(er).

Here are some updates of my entry.  There are still some parts I'm adding, as well as some insignias I need to add yet, but I think it's a MUCH better start.  Criticism, suggestions, and appraisals welcome!

phatty don't be kickin yourself.  Yours rocks out too.  I'd definately dull down that light blue on it... but that's just me... flashy collors make me spaz.  ;)   I realy like the added weopons on it as well.  I think we mentioned moving the middle one up though, are you going to put those silver guns on there somewhere?  I would...

I'd also add some more grey sections of panneling like you seem to have done.

I would also touch up the back, theres too much white (or light grey...) around the "vent" area.

other than that you know I am going to love a good hover tank ;).

Actually, that's silver around the rear vent.  There are still some flecks of the light blue, and I'm going to keep some of them, but remove more of them.  That middle gun will stay (I have a thought for that top, I just need to flesh it out), and those other 2 guns and some other pieces I'm looking at are going to get placed on there as well.  I'm also using the silver to fleck out some of the edges, to give it the look that some of the paint has flaked off from battle.

I like those new additions Pat. The grey painted panels kind of break up the blue and make it appear more detailed. Yeah, throw those guns on there.

Looking good Phatty! I like the grey pannels and the silver guns will look awesome as well. Thanks for putting up some progress shots. Can't wait to see it after you are done weathering it.

I am just about done with the container, I may weather it just a bit more on the sides and top but I don't want to over do it. Here it is in my very small hanger bay ready to be loaded with supplies.

that is sickeningly awesome LS.  the weathering is just dripping coolness...  litterally.  I love the drip lines and the oily nastyness.  The colors you chose for the greeblies works perfect.

Thanks guys and yes, one step closer. I wanted to do the cargo hold first as it is the easiest and it can hold some of the containers I have sitting around. I am trying to decide how i want to paint the side containers. I may add the grid material or something else to the sides of them and paint those areas tan or the darker grey. I just fixed the last picture. I guess I posted the overhead view twice.

LS, I agree with the Spudafett...that is sickeningly awesome....

I have to say this with my fist in my mouth, but HOT DAMN, that is so clever, your creativity just oozes out. I love the small details and painted sections, the care and attention to detail is stunning.

I've gone and removed more of that light blue, using a flat sea blue to give it the effect that it's been repainted from wear and tear.  I've also accented here and there in SMALL quantities with rust colored enamel, to give it more of a worn look.  I'm trying not to overdo it so that it doesn't look TOO crappy.  I also added in the new guns, which still need some weathering.

Yea Phatty, that is looking good. I can also see the black weathering in the cracksand I like the rust on the edges. The new guns look sweet and pull it all together.
