« on: October 09, 2009, 03:07:33 AM »
hey Guys H0w are you all?
today i am going to show you a sneak peak at my next repaint custom....
i called this thread Custom Repaint Vehicles as i am not strong willed or skilled enough yet to hack at my vehicles so all i can do is repaint hence the name ::)

so here is a little teaser....... i might put this into Spudafett's comp..

A well-built sniper rifle is a beautiful thing. Ours has two zoom modes, "Up close and personal" and "Hello, you're dead

yawn!! i really should be in bed it's now 1:40am and i want to show some shots of the wheels in a step by step process much like HB94 in his YT vid

first is a shot of what the wheel looks like first

a shot of when i painted the wheels black

now here is what it looks like after wiping the black paint of with 70% Alcohol (no i didn't have a sip lol)

and the last shot is of what i am trying to emulate a muddy swamp like look... you can see a little of the tank and how it's turning out.... still teasing ;D

wow, I'm impressed!  remember though, if your putting this into the contest your giving away your ideas! lol... but I don't mind.  I actually encourage everyone entering the contest to go on and post wip pics up until the deadline!
Makes things more interesting.

Those tires are going to look aweseom.

They look great with just the black on them! They look like big giant mud tires.... but then you put the muddyness to them and it looks even better! (although I think it needs more brown instead of green...)

Looking good CloneCommander! Great idea with the WIP pics, I love seeing how things progress. The techniques are solid but I too am not a big fan of the green. I would use brown only for the mud. You could also use tan to simulate some of the mud dried on there. It looks ok I just don't think it is as realistic as everything else you have done so far. Great project though...

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

thanks for the great comments guys... it starting look like what i envisioned but i hear you all that are saying that there is too much Green on the tires, i guess i will tone it down a bit, my aim was to get it looking like moss was growing on it as she has seen a lot of battles and has been on planet for some time.
the funny thing is i had only put brown on and thought there was too much brown so i added the green to break it up

I'm not saying green is bad... who knows... maybe the plannet is covered in a blue-green algae living in the mud! ;)

it looks great.  I'd love to see you go with the idea that this is a deralict tank left of falucia or somewhere and is slowly being reclaimed by the elements...

I loved playing through the falucia levels on The Force Unleashed and trying to identify all the pieces of wreckage everywhere....

It would also go with current Clone Wars Cannon as Ashoka was forced to leave her Turbo behind in "Holocron Heist". I love the dark grim and grit so far... more pics!!
