I got my Qui-Gon Jinn and Eopie in the mail today and it's time for their review.
As a Hasbro redemption mail away figure, this set cost me 5 clone wars/bad/saga legends figure upcs and $6.99
This redemption offer is only available in the US and Canada. Sorry folks.
Packaged fairly well upon opening this set the first thing i seen was the great paint apps on the eopie beast figure. Also, it was bigger than I thought it was going to be.
The Eopie figure features a nice hard plastic body with matching hard plastic legs that have articulation at the upper joint where the legs meet the body only. Also, there is a joint in the neck which allows the beasts head to swivel on an axis from right to left. The reins are securely mounted but have a pivot point so that they can be displayed in the riding or pulling position. The baggage and saddle are molded on and the paint apps are nice and neat.
the Qui-gon Jinn figure as far as I can tell is a new sculpt and features a super arty body with a ball jointed waist and head. The head sculpt is nicely detailed and I love seeing the hair down with a hint of a braid in the back. Because of the hair, there are only so many positions you can pose his head in. The poncho is a soft goods cloth item which looks just right and is slightly sewed under the arm holes to keep it from flaring out too much. Under the poncho, Qui-gons mix of cloth and plastic soft goods at the waist is the perfect mix and something I would like to see more of in the future. Qui-gon's lightsaber has to have the most tight and precise paint apps of a lightsaber that I have ever seen.
It's a winner, folks! Hasbro has done very well with this one and I am glad to see such a great Qui-gon figure as I was a bit dissapointed with the one released when tpm came out.
If you haven't filled out and mailed in your redemption forms yet, you have until March 31 of next year to get it done.
"since I opened this at the top of the stairs which is my workstation, I had to snap a pic of Qui-gon leading Eopie past the boneyard of resin parts that I am working on"
