This is one of the ones in the new wave that I had been wanting and I picked this one up at a Target for $7.49
I love my ot figures and this one fills a neglected area that has been needing more attention lately.
upon opening, Our nikto gunner features super articulation, a ball mounted head, nice sculpting, and a decent paint job that well represents the character on screen in ROTJ. He comes with a screen accurate shaped pistol that fits nicely in his side mounted holster, the removable helmet with a correctly colored simulated flowing cloth back of plastic, and the clip-on gun. Now, while not as bendy as some other Hasbro guns, my copy did have a bend in the barrel from where he was holding it in the package. some heat and tlc could correct this. Also, one of the handles was a bit smashed from it's time in the package. A pleasant surprise to me was that it's mount features a ball that snaps into a recess in the main body of the gun and allows for a better range of motion than just a swivel post point of articulation would. the sculpting on the gun is nice and features 2-4 little hoses, 2 of which go from the main body of the gun to the mount. Getting the figure to hold the gun's handles wasnt as hard as expected and that clip-on gun mount was a wide range of possibilities as far as clipping it onto something.
this BAD figure includes the left leg of RC-57 which is an r5 looking astromech with light purple colorings.
Also inside, I found a redemption form and a catalog but no clone cash. Were we to ever get clone cash in a Legacy bad figure package, it would be hard to spot from the outside as the plastic container of the bad part wedges the redemption form to the bottom of the package and keeps it from shifting around to expose the clone cash which usually hides under this form in the clone wars figures.
I'm sure that some of you are wondering what this gun would look like clipped onto the rail of a sand skiff and I broke out my vintage version to try it out.
If I were ever to craft a pit of Carkoon type diorama, this figure and his gun would certainly be included.
It's a good figure folks! Too bad Hasbro couldn't have found a way to package that gun so that it would retain it's intended shape.
