Ok, the exterior is finished as far as greeblies go. I've just got the thrusters to fit.
I re-mounted the gun turret to the top of the ship, that way I could have a moving gun.

Most of the parts have been screwed on, so this baby can be played with without fear of parts falling off. A lot of the external parts move, like the radar, turret, rear antenna and fuel scoop. Internal parts also move like the retracting fuel and repair arms. She's also got working external light.

Now all I need are the 2 chairs then I can finish off the cockpit, then the fun begins, I can paint the thing. She'll totally change when the colour is applied. Lastly the decals.

I have a couple of Star Trek figure bridge chairs I could let you have, Jules. They look like office chairs and might not be as beefy as what you are wanting. It's looking great, buddy. I can't wait to see it painted.

thats going to look great HB, I'm glad that your going with a similar color to the original.  I don't think a flat grey or normal imperialistic style would have worked for this.  (I'm sure you could have pulled it off, but I realy like the yellow and orange!!)

Ohhhh, nice, me like. I will have to disagree Spud, I had visualized an all over off white to light tan color with yellow markings. Obviously with the Hangarbay treatment/awesome weathering. Though I do like what you have proposed Jules and can't wait to see some paint on her. I just want to trow out that if you paint most everything you glued on a contrasting color from the vehicle it looks like it was glued on. If you leave more areas the same color and just weather them it looks more a part of the vehicle. Just something to think about as this comes together as that mock up looks sweet.

The seats from the old Joe Fang helo also work well with some slight mods, I used those on my swamp speeder,
Anyhow the paint will look good in those colors, but I think that almost any neutral color would look great,

This is gonna look sweet. I bet any color for this would look good. I could see this in the same colors you did that great AT-AT!

Sprywalker,

I totally agree about the colours, I just didn't photoshop it properly. I've been studying close up images of ILM's Slave1 model and Luke's speeder, damn, those medel makers were good! and I'm going to try to show layers of colours in areas that see the most wear.

Basically it's going to bea similar colour scheme to the one seen on Luke's speeder, old brown and dirty with some go faster stripes.

Ok, I've painted her up and although she looks good, I'm not totally happy, so she will get a re-paint when i have a bit more time, but for now Bessie 2 is ready for photography.

I still need to spend some time on the cockpit and rear cargo bay, I'll be sure to update you when it's done.
