What great feedback! thanks everyone.

Seeing Hackcore's fantastic models on the Models and Scratch-build forum gave me the inspiration to try that little bit harder on the detail, it also gave me a little bit more patience, so thanks Mr. Hackcore!

I've now got a Y-Wing and A-Wing ready to be Hangarbay'd as well as a GI Joe speeder I'm working on for Wraith9, so there may be a bit more activity on this post over the coming weeks.

Laters Dudes!!!!

The X-Wing looks perfect. Detailing, paintwork and weathring is top class
Can't wait to see what are you going to do with the A-Wing and the Y-Wing

Inspired by this Ralf McQuarrie picture I am now getting to work on my next project.

A-Wing Blue "Dagger Squadron"  are stationed aboard the Calamari Winged Cruiser "Defiance" along with X-Wing Green (Rancor Squadron). The Defiance's mission is to hunt the mid and outer rim territories for  Imperial Convoys and conduct "hit and fade" missions against them. A Wings from the Defiance often perform the role of scouts, hyper spacing ahead of the cruiser in search of prey.

This Hasbro A-Wing will become Blue -3.

This cockpit will get more authentic  decals

The inlets at the side of the A-Wing will also get some additional detailing.

More WIP images as the project progresses.

The concept A-Wing looks awesome and I'm sure you will do a great job.
Will you remodel the wing cannons cause it looks that the concept A-Wing has other cannons than the final movie version?

Sarge made a good one of these you can see off the front page links. I love this A-Wing.

Jules, do you know, even your work in progress shots seem like works of art? LOL. Daggone talent just oozes.

I have been thinking on it for a bit, but do you guys know how I.M.P.S. does the Empire Story? I could sure see Jules doing something like this for the Rebel Side the way he is going!

A little update for you...

After checking out a few YouTube tutorials I am trying a few interesting new techniques. Here the A-Wing has undergone a Pre-Shading, I used an airbrush to accent the panel lines and heavy weathered areas. After the shading has been applied I will then spray the main colour on the model. The dark areas will show through as subtle weathering once the main coat dries.

The cockpit has been removed and a base coat of dark grey with a touch of blue applied. I then used the airbrush again to add weathering in black. Finally I created some decals and applied them to the front and sides.

Jules this is shaping up nicely! I love the technique you are going with. You are going to make me want to get out my 20 yr old aifbrush! I can't wait to see the next step in this process.
