I too like the bright colors on that shadow gunship. Very good job on that one. I could see that version being a hot exclusive item at a tru store or something.

There are times when weathering is not necessariy the best way to go, and I think your decision for clean new lines was a refreshing one. The pictures with the troops with their vehicles is fantstic. The faultless lines and the creative colour schemes are stunning.

Welsome!

lamb, I like your paint schemes a lot.
Very nice and clean work.
Don't think I was that good at your age. Don't think I could pull it off now either.

Wow. Daggone nice!

Man, wouldn't you love to make the gunship into a dropship for that AT-TE! Still, I love the paint apps. Orange is not my favorite color, but it sure looks great here. Welcome to the Yards!

Welcome to the ISY, lambonspit  8) That's some killer fresh 'n clean paint work on those ships, mate. Did you use masking tape to get those straight lines or free hand painted them?

Indeed, sometimes less damage and weathering (or none at all, for that matter) is quite refreshing and equally impressive.

Great job on these  :)

Man, I am loving your customs! I especially like the AT-TE and Gunships, the orange ones look great and the black and red one is totally bad ass! That's one Larty I'd want coming to the rescue!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, im really glad you liked them.

The AT-TE was done with a lot of sticky tape ( we were too stingey to go and buy masking tape!!). The shadow gunship was out first custom and we did not think to use sticky tape. So, naturally, we painted the gunships without using sticky tape and thought we had used the best method of painting......how wrong we were. Using tape just makes everything so much easier and quicker!!

Again, thanks for the great comments. Love the feedback!!

Hey guys. Been a bit busy lately with year 12 exams and all, but have managed to fit in the time to start work on my custom 501st Fighter Tank. Here are some of the preliminary pics. Colours used are Chaos Black, Ultramarine Blue and Mithril Silver. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Also, these summer holidays i'll be customising a range of vehicles to match the 501st army (larty, AT-TE, maybe Turbo Tank..), and was wondering how i can dirty vehicles up a bit after painting them?

wow that looks good.  I like it!

as for dirtying up vehicles check out our references section. there is a thread on weathering techniques.

one technique to try is called dry brushing, you use very small amounts of paint on your brush and barely hit the edges casing a "Scraped" or "dirtied" look.

good luck!
