YHa,  that ruined someone's day,  can you imagine what the consequences would have been in a bolt action rifle,   I never understood the guys that would make "special" ammo.  Being involved in hunting and shooting since I was a wee lad, I always respected what could go wrong,  Hot loads are never a good idea. Even the guys that buy the +p and ++P loads need to know what their gun can handle before adding the extra pressure to it.   Sad end to a nice S&W

Hey Greg, I don't mean to morbid, but if you can email me pics of that guy's face I am teaching hunter safety right now and want to show the consequences of not using the correct ammunition in your firearm. I have a few pictures of a bolt action rifle after a similar incident and it looks it was peeled like a bananna and is split in four directions. I can put em up here sometime if you guys want. Kinda gross though.

Today was the last day of my teaching hunter safety and a student had a question about powder. I used your images to show them what happens when you get the powder wrong! So Greg, you educated about 60 kids today with this post.  If I may so gruesome, what were the extent of these injuries? I don't mean to pry, but you are sure giving me some great info. to share with my kids about the dangers of unsafe firearm handling. I need to post the pics I have of that bolt action rifle that had bad loads. the barrel is split four ways right up to the forearm. I do have one shot of the guys head too, but it is pretty gross.

Very nice,   years ago when I was into target shooting I often thought about reloading my own, but I just didn't have the space or time for it,.  I still have buckets of brass in the shop.

I know one thing, I could sure use someone to load up my ultra mag load. The guy who used to do it, got a metal plate in his head (old war woud) and hasn't been doing it for a few years. I still have plenty of shells, but need a more dependable loader.
