Star Wars Switcheroos

Released in 1980 under the Empire Strikes Back banner these nifty little items added some extra Star Wars flair to any child’s bedroom. There are 3 offerings, R2D2, C3PO and Darth Vader. Essentially a light switch cover plate, these would screw on over an existing light switch and allow the user to turn the lights on and off by moving a section of the switcheroo. These are now sought after items and can be very difficult and expensive to locate in pristine condition. The cards bend easily as they are lighter than the cardstock used in the action figure line. The bubbles seem to yellow and deteriorate easily.

Finding these can be a treat and a fun look back on some of the unique non-action figure offerings.

I gotta say - if I *ever* found an R2 switcheroo, it would SO be installed as soon as I got home!!!

I have a carded C3PO and I am still hunting for "reasonably" priced others both loose and carded,   these really are not cheap considering what they are.

I just saw The Earth Toy Mall as a carded C3PO, for $25.00,  it's on a terrible card but would be perfect for someone wanting an opener.

These are fun and surprisingly tought to hunt down for minty items, even good loose items are not easy or cheap,  If I run across one I'll let you know,  I still need a loose R2
