Kotobukiya
« on: November 29, 2009, 04:11:06 AM »
Anyone here collecting Kotobukiya statues?

A few years ago after Hasbro canceled the Action Fleet and MicroMachines lines I looked into collecting something else. And Kotobukiya statues got my attention. The first was the Squad Leader Sandtrooper (orange pauldron). After that I got the others like ROTS Vader, Snowtrooper and Scout. I even managed to get the uber rare Sandtrooper Corporal and Sergeant versions and for good price.

Kotobukiya started now with a new Clone Wars line where the statues are smaller, thus we could call them figures. Maybe you know Kotobukiya also makes anime figures and statues but that is another story.

Right now I have all the Koto statues that fit my Imperial focus and hope for others to come.

- Darth Vader ROTJ
- Darth Vader ROTS
- Sandtrooper Squad Leader (orange pauldron)
- Sandtrooper Corporal (black pauldron)
- Sandtrooper Sergeant (white pauldron)
- Scout Trooper
- Snowtrooper
- Stormtrooper/Luke disguise
- Royal Guard
- TIE Fighter Pilot
- McQuarrie Vader vs Luke set
- C-3PO & R2-D2 set
- Slave Leia
- Yoda
- Boba Fett (for sale/trade)
- Predator 2
- AVP Predator
- AVP Alien Warrior

Cool collection! Maybe you should get the Scout, Snowtrooper and Vader ROTS. TFAW has these for very good prices from time to time.  ;)

This Darth Maul ARTFX Statue is 1/7 scale and features the great sculpting details and detailed deco that Kotobukiya is known for. In addition, this statue comes with a double-ended lightsaber with LED lights! Look for this to be released in February 2011.

I have to be honest, I may be hard pressed not to get this one myself.  Had I not just preordered the Sideshow Premium Format Cyborg Darth Maul, it would have been an even easier task!

Serg, I was just thinking of you and wondering where you've been!  Glad to see you back again.  So do these 1/10 scale Kotos compare to the regular Kotos in quality?

I'm not sure, I hope they do. Still 1:10 is quite small, but also is the price, so in the end all is good. ;)

I picked this up and the First Koto Maul off of Craigslist and love both. The Second one has the light-up lightsabers as well and looks killer :D Now all I need is the Sideshow PF and I'm set  DVP
