2009 Legacy Build a Droid R3-A2

Yet another fantastic Build a Droid Astromech, R3-A2 had a brief amount of camera time in the Empire Strikes Back in scenes during the Hoth Echo Base segment. Like the last BAD that I reviewed, this one is assembled out of 5 different pieces that are available with 4 different figures. I like the paint apps better on this one than the R3-M5 BAD droid, especially on the clear dome.

This figure list for the parts may not be entirely complete as it seems that there should be at least one more on the list. Please add any figures that you find with this droids parts to the thread. Also, it seems that we have been seeing some repacks of figures with alternating BAD parts from wave to wave so be sure to look before you leap. I believe that the Boba Fett fig has been found with a different Droid's parts packed in.

Here is the list, thus far, of where the parts to this droid can be found.

# R2-D2 (includes R3-A2's head & middle leg)

can't do a comparrison shot at this time, NFC, as R3-M3 is on his way to Germany. If I can get the parts for another one together, I will.

oh that's okay then  LOL

actually I wanted to see the domes next to eachother more than anything else.  R3A2's dome looks close to being clear than M3's is but that could be the pictures or my imagination

They are different levels of clear as you said. I will post a pic when I get home as I am one piece shy of having another r3-m3 together and I know just where to find one.

And here are the comparison shots, NFC. As you suspected, R3-M3's dome is notably less clear than the dome that belongs to R3-M2. This is another positive attribute to the M2 bad figure as it shows off the internal details under the droid's dome better.
