Pic 48, 49, 50 & 51 - the trunk/roots were then given a wash of GW Chaos Black. The black wash is great espcially if you have a large project like this it helps cover any small areas that you might have missed in the previous washes.

Pic 52, 53 & 54 - the trunk/roots were then given a wash of Vallejo's Pale Sand 837 and Beige Brown 875, this wash was for the sole perpose of giving the trunk/roots a lighter highlight with some small tinges of brown thru it. The pics aren' the best but you can see the brown tinges ever so slightly.

Pic - 55, 56, 57 & 58 - The trunk/roots are 95% complete I just have to add a little more highlights and there done. As you can see I have give them a more wood/earthy type feel to them, this was done by giving them a wash of Vallejo's Flat Earth 70.983 and then staright after a wash of Vallejo's USA Tan Earth 70874.

By doing the second wash straight away it blends the two washes together to give a more natural looking look. Once the washes have dried I then gave a very light drybrush of Beige Brown 875 to highlight certain area's of the trunk/roots.

Next up will I will be doing the ground work, plants and mildew/fungi/moss.

Hi All

FialaFernbrugg - Thanks buddy and have done a little more tonight.

Pic 59, 60 & 61 - I have started laying down the soil this was done buy applying woodglue to the base and pouring the soil over the glue. The soil is a mixer of dirt from the backyard and pot plant mix, I like to use the plant mix as it has small shredded pieces of bark, roots etc and is perfect for a jungle floor.

Pic 62, 63 & 64 -  I have started applying the mildew/fungi/moss around the stone work and this was done by first grinding up some dark green pastel chalk and then appying dark green paint and mix the two together. Once the paint and chalk is mixed water it down and apply the mildew/fungi/moss to what areas you like.

more WIP pics soon

Hi All

Pic - 65, 66 & 67 - Where the mildew/fungi/moss was done last night it was left to dry over night and then I ground up lichen moss to almost a powder and dabbed woodglue over the area's I did last night and then sprinkled the lichen moss over the glue.

I let the lichen moss dry for about 2 hours then using a wide brush I brushed the excess off until there was just a thin layer left over.

Pic - 68, 69 & 70 - I have started applying the jungle plants and the ones in the pics are plastic plants from the local pet shop. I gave them a wahs of Vallejo's German Cam Drak Green 979 to tone down the shine a little but not to much.

More WIP pics of the jungle planting soon

Looking great! I like the stages of coloring that went into giving the tree its natural appearance. I've noticed in nature that some trees have a more greyish hue.

Thanks mate and you are correct alot of trees do have that greyish hue to them. I was going to go with the greyish hue for this dio until I saw a pic on the net where the bark was a more light browny earth colour pic attached below.

Once I saw the pic I knew that the more light browny earth colour would be perfect against the reddish/brown stone work and the also the jungle vegetation.

Hi All

Well 90% complete just have to add some minor weathering and make Indy and will have pics soon. Also I will be doing step by step pics on indy as well.

I'm not to sure if I'll show the WIP pics but if you are interested in seeing LMK and I will post them.

Pic - 71 & 72 - All the jungle vegetation is now complete and as with pics 68-70 the plants have been given a very minor wash of Vallejo's German Cam Drak Green 979 to again tone down the glossy plastic look.
