Re: Hemble's other Custom's - Desert Speeder 1/48 Complete P65 16/02/16

Hi All,

While waiting on more plants to arrive for my drop pod dio I decided I would build and do a dio using Bandai's 1/48th scale Snowspeeder.

This WIP dio depicts a few pilots waiting to for the ground to complete their work so that they can go out on a desert patrol.

The base is made using high density foam and will be covered using spakfilla and I have used the pilots and deck crew from Tamiya's 1/48th scale U.S. Navy Pilots WWII w/Moto-Tug.

Update

Painted the speeder using Vallejo's Sky Grey and then painted the black area's using Vallejo's Black and the back four panels with Vallejo's Light Brown.

Up next will be the cockpit and then the weathering.

I am so gonna buy one of those Bandai AT-STs and Snowspeeders. They look fantastic as does your wip and you just got started! Off to share.

Sweet! Looks fantastic so far. I like that extra open panel on the cannon. Not sure why its detailed underneath, if your going to cover it.

Cheers mate and yeah I don't know either unless the whole cannon panel is supposed to be one piece.

Hi All,

Painted the cockpit up and weathered the speeder using Vallejo paints, I still have to add some straps to the seats to cover up the cutting were I removed the connection for the pilots back.

Really cool, as always. I love seeing the snowspeeder out of cold weather environments.

Hi All,

I have completed the desert speeder and added it to a smaller base so that I could get it on the shelf. Sorry if the pics are a bit blurry I still haven't got a new camera as of yet so I'm using an old one for these pics and once I get my new one I will take my usual out door pics with the rest of the recipe.
