Hi All,

After having a little break after the last dio I'm back with WIP for a new dio using Bandai's 1/48 AT-ST and as per usual Bandai didn't disappoint with this kit the details is excellent.

I built the AT-ST straight out of the box and glued the legs in place and added a 1/48 scale German WW2 MG34 from the Tamiya German Infantry on maneuvers figure kit. I converted one of the drivers and cut his head off and glued it back on but gave it a small turn to the left and added arms from the 1/48 Tamiya German Infantry on maneuvers figure kit.

I gave the interior some minor paint details as the top is now glued in place and you wont really see much inside. I still have to make the base, paint/weather the AT-ST and the second driver who will be in the turret looking around and also paint some rebels.

Looking great! You always do fantastic interior detailing, I don't have that much discipline.

Thanks heaps buddy and I wasn't going to do the interior as you won't see anything much but the detail Bandai put into it I just had to do some details.

Hi All,

Have 90% completed the figures for the dio, I just have to add some minor details to the Rebels backpacks and then paint and weather the Rebels and the AT-ST Commander.

The Rebels are from Tamiya's American Infantry GI set and the heads are from Tamiya's U.S WW2 Pilot set. The weapons and gear are a mix of the Tamiya's American Infantry GI and German Infantry on maneuvers figure kit.

The AT-ST Commander has the torso and head fro the Bandai kit and you don't see it but has legs and arms from Tamiya's WW2 German Infantry on maneuvers figure kit.

That AT-ST Commander just looks spot on to me. This is one tough looking diorama. I am guessing you can already tell I am liking it? [at1]

Off to share the latest...

Hi All,

A little more done on the dio, I decided to make this a small Jakku dio with sections of hull spraweled over the place like in SW Battlefront. I have started building a section of a rock cliff which I used left over high density foam to give the bulk to it and now I have to start filling it in using plaster cloth.

The hulls sections are pieces of plasti card which I glued together and then let dry and then started ripping and twisting it apart using pliers and scissors.  I have also started giving them a rusty look buy painting them Vallejo German Grey then dry brushed medium Grey and then a wash of flat black and then Hull Red.

Once that all had dried I then used a orange and black pastel chalk and rubbed them on sandpaper and then watered the mix down and dapped it over the pieces and once dry I rubbed the excess away. I still have to do some weathering to them but won't do that until the base is done.
