Hi All,

It's been a while since I did a Star Trek 1:12 dio so I decided to do one which depicts kirk battling the Gorn for TOS Arena.  I got the figures in the pose's I like and know I need to glue joints and putty them up and start painting and start making the base.

The Kirk figure is from Mezco and the Gorn is from Diamond Select toys.

The first pic is the scene I'm doing for those that have never seen TOS Trek.

Hi All,

Star Trek TOS - Arena 1:12 scale.

Recipe.

Figure's - Kirk is from Mezco and I repainted his face and hands using Vallejo Paints and dirtied him up using pastel chalks. The translator was made using plastic rod and plastic card and the vine is string painted brown and the leaves are Fine leaf foliage from Woodland Scenics.

The Gorn is from Diamond Select Toys and I glued and puttied up the joints and painted him using Vallejo Paints and his translator was done the same as kirks and his coal knife was made using foam.
Base - is high density foam as are the rocks, the rocks were shaped out then covered with watered down spakfilla and painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.

The sand is a mix of spakfilla/fine sand and paint and then applied to the base and the area were the sand is disturbed was done by applying a few washes and then applying pastel chalks.

I don’t know much about STAR TREK. My aunt is a big fan, though. From a neutral customizer’s perspective I think you made the Gorn figure look more realistic than the actual costume in the movie. You also made the figure look so much like the actor! Excellent work especially with the chalks, Ron! The costume and the cheek look top notch!

Hey Philipp, thanks heaps buddy and dare I say it I was a huge Trek fan before I was a SW fan LOL, I grew up with the re-runs of the classic series and have the re-edited classic series which makes it even 100% better but without ruining the old classic charm.
