Been a long time since I ever tried anything muddy and it sure didn’t compare to this. Nice kit, that panther. I don’t have one that new even.
The figures turned out great. Love the wisps of smoke.
That realistic water looks fun also.
Many modelers make the mistake of carrying an aspect of weathering too far but this extreme condition is represented wonderfully here. Just right on muddy transfer to tank from driving and crew.
Ive claimed that Ron cant sleep because he doesn’t have time, with all the creations he cranks out.
It’s more realistic to think that if my stuff looked this good, I would be too excited to sleep. That’s got to be how it is for Ron?
Congrats on your airbrush. I love mine but find I have to stay in practice with it or I turn rusty. It certainly does things you can’t do with a brush. I find that the atomizing action makes Vallejo Matt varnish dry flatter than ever. 2-3 times flatter than with a brush and with a thinner layer to boot.

Hey Clint, thanks heaps buddy and really glad you like it. I do sleep LOL but as I mentioned on other projects I'm now retired from the Army and on a pension due to injuries so besides doing the house work, cooking and picking up the kids from school I have a lot of free time so what better way to spend it then building diorama's and customs.

I do get excited when I build a diorama or custom as I can visualize the end result but it's always great to see the end result. I don't have an airbrush yet I helped a mate with a dio the other week at his place so I got to use his air brush and damn I was so stoked with the results so I'm saving up to get my own.

You are so correct about some modellers over doing the weathering which can make a brilliant model look crappy but it does take time and practice to get the weathering down.

Most impressive once again, Master hemble! These tanks needed a lot of fuel...very interesting setting and excellent realization!
You put a lot of work into all these dots on the tank! And your attention to detail is most remarkable!

Thanks for sharing this Panther with us!

- Philipp

Thanks heaps Philipp and always my pleasure mate.

Ron

Well now, that is just incredible. The muddy tracks look really outstanding. I have to echo Tamer and the others on the amazing realism of your dioramas. Keep up the inspiring work.

Hi All,

On another dinosaur/Jurassic/World Park binge and this time I'm doing the gate from Jurassic Park in 1:18 scale.

The main gate structure is high density foam and will be covered and weathered as will the sign section, the words will be cut out and painted and added to some thin foam to give the depth.

The gates are made using foam board for the template and balsa wood has been applied over the time, I filled in the gaps and then it will be sanded and painted/weathered.

Hi All,

Well had my local Con (MAGNETICON) on over the weekend and it's getting bigger every year. A promotion company took over this year so there weren't any huge guest VIP's as it is going to tailored to Cosplay and Gaming.

My setup was different this year as I had an area so I could paint and make diorama's so people could see what is involved in making a diorama, I also sold all the dios on the table which was awesome and I hope they do well again next year.

Hi All,

POTA - Damn Stinking Humans, 1:10 scale.

Recipe.

Gorilla - is from NECA and I wanted him to have sleeveless arms to show the fur arms like Julius in POTA so I used a pair of Mirror Kirk arms from Art Asylum and cover them and the head in fake fur. Once the fur was glued and dried I then painted and weathered the gorilla with Vallejo Paints.  The hose is old computer cable and the nozzle and handle were made using plastic rod and card and the running water was done using Woodland Scenics Water Effects.

Base - is high density foam and the cage was made using plastic rod and strips and the hay is tall grass that you can get from any good railway hobby shop. The flow troughs were done buy cutting the foam using a model knife and the dirty water is Woodland Scenics Realistic Water with a little Vallejo Tan Earth add to give a dirty look to it.

Once the dio was painted and put together I used Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and covered the whole base so it gives the feel that the whole area is getting a wash down.
