How did you dye upper torso? and with what?? What's the process?

Awesome snake eyes... awesome...

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

Thanks guys... I use Rit Dye, stuff for clothes. You boil some water, plop it in and then put the figures in... same thing I did with these babies for my friend's Bday present...

I generally go for a darker color of my base color. So for the Snake Eyes figure, if you look at his Visor, that's the reddish orange I dyed the whole figure. Same with the Mon Cal Dancer here, a dark reddish color, and the Rodian and Gamorrean were a deep, dark green(almost black looking to the naked eye). Then I went over them with layer after layer of light dry brushing...

I'll look around for some tutorials, I know there's a couple out there.. I just wouldn't start boiling water on your wife/mom's kitchen counter top though... some people have stained their counters and floor with drips and spills, lol.. so be careful. I'd also get a cheap pot to do it in, and not your wife/mom's fav family holiday pot. Also get a mesh cup strainer so the parts don't sit on the bottom of the pot(They'll melt or warp that way)... I basically sit there like I'm frying some fries in oil, shaking them here and there to mix them up a bit so they don't sit in one spot too long... anyway, I'll look for a tut to help.. but I really love dying the figures I give as gifts/sell to help with the playability.

Here's one:

Joe, I have seen that shot of the fat dancers somewhere before but can't remember where. Those figs are just priceless!

They were on Yakface's front page back when I posted them for my buddies Bday. Sadly, that's the only pic I have that I snapped before heading to his surprise party(I was literally up till the am working on them to get them done in time).

Did this for the prize for recent Zombie contest at GTG...

My lame back story...

After a distress signal was recovered coming from a Slave ship near Dantooine, a Shuttle with a squad of Special Ops Stormtroopers was sent over to investigate. Little did they know they were stepping onto a Slave ship that was also doubled for a Science Ship, where the Slaves were being tested on like lab rats.

Something went wrong and the Dead started coming back to life, and attacked and killed all the Slavers and the Crew. They later turned on each other till there were only a few left. Unlike your typical Zombie, these still retained much of their thought process due to all the tests and drugs their bodies were injected with. They were called "Smart Zombies", and would retain their old fighting habits.

When the Special Ops Stormtrooper Squad first landed, they didn't know what hit them, and lost two thirds of their team before they were even able to leave the Docking Bay. The rest hunkered down in their shuttle while the Zombies teamed up again and started to tear the shuttle apart so it was no longer space worthy.  With no other choice, but to fight, the remaining troops grabbed all the gear they could to fight it out to the death.

The Special Ops Troops were able to take out all but one last Wookie Zombie, and they were down to two troops. Who won? Which side was victorious? Maybe we'll never know...

The Wookie is from RotS, I dremeled down parts of his body, then resculpted his flesh and hair around it.
The shield is hot glue "sculpted" using the tip of the gun after it started to cool, to look like wood, same with the branch and the leaf is actually a think layer of hot glue, lol... all sculpted over an older GI Joe shield. Then some random droid parts added to the shield to reinforce it.
The Arm Bandolier is some random belt, with various older arms dremeled down, with hot glue used for the fleshy parts.

The troopers were TaC Stormies(I think), just weathered and bloodied. The flamethrower troop has a mask and chest piece from an animated space trooper.

The flames are all hot glue, again, sculpted with the hot glue gun tip after the glue started to cool.. man, that was a beast to make, lol.

very.... interesting.    Idk about the zombie wookie concept, but I love the resulting figure.  I can tell alot of work went into it, and you puled it off nicely.
I'll have to admit though that I like the troopers better.  Especially the flame thrower flames.  I've attempted to make one of those "hot glue flame thrower scuptures" myself and never could get it right.   That thing must be pretty heavy judging by the size!  I'm surprised the figures are able to hold it up.

btw, where did the actual gun for the flame thrower come from?

It was from a GI Joe baggie of fodder I got recently, I think the desert pack, might be the same mold used for the Dreadnok flamethrower...

The flames have a pole in the center to help keep it up that goes into the gun too. It's also hollow and was sculpted over a mass of aluminium foil, but even so, pretty heavy, lol.. There's a part of the flame I sculpted to stick out on one side and it hooks onto the branch on the shield which also helps... ;) but shhh... don't tell anyone I said that.

Oh look it's resident evil meets star wars, I am a big fan of mixing things into star wars - but was never a fan of Death Troopers (the new star wars novel, I think it is pushing it a little).

Now onto the custom I can't fault it for what it is, it has been done well and it gets the feel across. Just me personally I don't like this sort of thing in star wars it reminds me to much of resident evil, and I have never been a big fan of Zombies in any form.

However I know Joe is a great customiser and I have seen his other work on various boards so no disrespect meant to Joe here.

Bah.. none taken guys.. it was a fun custom for a themed challenge, that's all, it was either a Zombie SW character or a GI Joe one.. and there's been plenty of GI Joes.. my other idea was Halo Flood, cause they're kinda like Zombies.. but I went with my first love SW... If it wasn't for the Challenge, I would have never made the custom, but I had a blast doing so and hope the winner enjoys it as much.

Thanks for the honest comments.
