NFC retro review: Leia '00
« on: December 17, 2009, 10:27:37 PM »
Bespin Escape Leia, 2000 Power Of The Jedi, is still one of my favorite Princess Leia toys ever.  It was the first and only time she’s ever been available in this outfit and the figure itself was also the first Leia Organa figure that was noticeably smaller than the previous modern figures, she was finally in accurate scale with the rest of the line.  This outfit is also my favorite look for her from the OT, even the double looped braid hairstyle is flattering.  Like the vast majority of figures put out pre-2004 it is preposed and lacking in versatile articulation but it WORKS even now IMO.  I love this figure and while I hope to see a super articulated version later on, I won’t cry if it never happens, because they might not actually be able to top this version without putting forth an effort comparable to the new TLC snowspeeder pilot Luke Skywalker.

Boy the sculpt on this one looks spot on doesn't it. I will have to find me one of these when I get to my gaps in my potj lines. Nice review.

Yeah, I've got that figure!
One of my favourite costumes for Carrie Fisher in the whole Saga.
Super-articulating her might be a job for Spudafett. I bet that Devin could pull this off.

nahhh, Devin would end up making her a mando, :)

I haven't seen this one, wouldn't mind picking it up, just for the head, though.

I agree that this was, and still is, a great figure.  Don't know that I'd call her "retro" though.   ;)

LOL. I hear you. Serg put up my walker in this thread today. Basically we are calling anything pre-Legacy or the new Clone Wars retro I think. NFC can clarify though.

I would like to see Leia as a Mando. Just to see what could of happened if she had chosen Shysa, and because I love Mandos. I have agonised over buying this figure a number of times, if it was more articulated I would definately get it as it is a great sculpt.

She'd look sweet and dangerous in Beskar'gam.

I don't think that she's of much use when you think of articulation, but if you build a small diorama or scenic base for her, she'd make a great figure in the showcase or on your figure shelf.

hmmm  I don't visit this section enough apparently.  People in here talkin smack!

I could probably pull off a super arty version of this fig.  Would you want it super joe articulation or just standard super SW arty?

either way I'd have to have a copy of the original to look at in hand and chop up....  I'd probably use the original figure's torso and head.

This review has gotten me started on trying to fill in some of my pre ROTS gaps in TESB figs.

Now Devin, if you miss thread reads, you just never know what will pop up. I do agree though, this head sculpt in Mando armor would look sweet. One can only wonder why they won't reuse good face sculpts? That might be a good Hasbro question.

are you guys SURE they didn't remake this figure's outfit?  I could have sworn they did.... oh wait... now I remember:

the tobi dala and leia comic pack is where I remember it:

but alas, it is no better...  actually I think it is worse than that '00 one!
