INFO: The isolationist Tarc live on the arid planet Hjaff - they are a species of land-dwelling crustaceans that have removed themselves from the rest of the galaxy. These fierce aliens attack anyone who dares to enter their "domain of sovereignty," even the Imperials, who have recently mounted a military campaign against them.

HOMEWORLD:Hjaff was a planet, the homeworld of the Tarc species. It had three continents. During the Galactic Civil War, the planet was under the jurisdiction of Moff Joss Leskwin.
BIOLOGY AND APPEARANCE:The Tarc were a carnivorous species that originally evolved from sea-dwelling crustaceans but were forced to adapt to life on land. They were bipeds possessing two legs and four arms. The upper pair of arms were dexterous while the lower arms possessed claws which they used for fighting. Despite their size a Tarc had surprisingly good reflexes, and their large strides when walking allowed them to move quickly.
They stood about two meters tall which was enhanced by their exo-skeletal musculature making them more intimidating in appearance. They never evolved the need for lips, teeth or tongues but instead possessed hollow spikes inside their mouths which would inject acidic saliva into food that would be shredded by the spikes themselves. This led to two stages in digestion with the first and primary form taking place within the mouth. Once the food was shredded into smaller pieces it would then be swallowed by the Tarc. Their diet consisted of sand mollusks and other small creatures native to the deserts of their homeworld. Due to their mouth's structure, Tarc language was spoken in a series of clicks and clacks from their mouth spikes accompanied by growls and grunts.
CULTURE AND HISTORY:Tarcs were generally not violent but possessed a zero tolerance policy in relation to other species, something that could border on xenophobia. The space surrounding their homeworld was colonized but that was the limit of their expansion. It was a crime for a Tarc to leave their home system and those caught leaving were charged with an offense if they did not have the necessary permission.
