whoa - what do you mean by half rejects?   Is that rex not coming to the States?
The Kit is on an ARF body.  The buyer wanted the extra articulation on a Kit.   I will try and reduce the size and zero on him.   I have alot of pics I can't get posted because they are larger than 250 k.   Is there any help you can offer?
Also what did you mean by the helmet being half removable?   I wondered why tung didn't have a pic with the helmet off . . . . .
Thanks Clonehead.

No, No, Arctic Rex certainly will be released here. By reject, I am referring to the speculation that all of the figures that tunghori sells are either ill gotten paint and body blem rejects or stolen directly off the factory line as this one isn't released in his country either but there certainly is a Hasbro factory there.

Since Toyfair, we have updated quite a few threads with some new pics. You can find some of arctic Rex in the new Clone Wars line board, like this one of Rex with his helmet off that I found on Rebelscum.com. As you can see in this shot, The top of Rex's helmet clearly comes off and it is my fear that the rest of the head is either mounted on a ball or worse, mounted on a post like the old potj snowtrooper.

As far as posting your bigger pics, What I do in that case is host them on flikr and post them here using the insert image control like I did with this pic. Just go to flikr.com and sign up for a free account. It's easy. Using this method, you can also post hosted pics in your ebay auctions for free and save the $$ that ebay charges you for having multiple pics in one auction.

wow Ya it looks like they managed to screw this one up!    Why the heck would we want the top of the helmet to come off? :-*
And its funny you say that about tunghori.   The Stone I got  - one of the shoulder emblems is a complete blob of paint.  The fine lines are not there at all.
I will try that with Flikr.   Thanks for the tip, CH.  You are always helpful.   No competitive attitude at all, just helping out , and that is hard to find.

Here is another pic of the Boomer I made, using one your cast heads, I added a mohawk, seen in the other pics.
This is also Cmdr. Ganch, another request by the same person.   Someday soon I want to make these again to sell at auction or even thought again about posting a couple on here.   When I can avoid all the ebay bs, I sell them directly to people for alot less than my auctions have been getting to.

I have no idea why they would make the arctic rex like that except to save money, I guess. he never did remove his helmet in that episode that I remember but you and I know that everyone would prefer a fully removable helmet to reveal a human head. I guess I will have to butcher the one that I get and make it that way.
Ah, we get more stories that lead to the assumption that tunghori is selling factory rejects. Some quality control person probably picks em off the line and throws em in a bucket or something and then someone slips someone else some money to dump that bucket into their lunchbox rather than in the incinerator.

Yeah, get a flickr account set up and I can help you posting your pics here or in your ebay auctions. I am here to help you guys and have no secrets other than my clone wars Yoda pajamas to keep from you.

I like that Boomer and Ganch. They turned out great! I do love seeing my casts on other  people's customs.

Ya I really like your heads. I need to get some more . . . and the ball joints.  Gets expensive when everytime I want an animated head, I buy another rex.     I am with you ., . . the first thing I will do is try to replace that head.   I just want the body to work with.
I have to say, the more I look at that Arctic Rex, the more inclined I am to make another!   It is really a disappointment in my eyes.
I thought about something like that scenario with tunghori, but then I also just figured the Chi. gov't was simply trying to undercut the States by selling them over there before they ever reach stores here.  Just another way to slice and dice our economy.  whoa I am getting political.   I am sure it is more like the scenario you describe.  you would think someone would catch on to that if it were theft....but who knows.
I will get a flikr acct set up and get back to you.  Thanks again.

Thanks again for the front page Tamer and to all for the encouragement.
Here is another, closer shot of Kit on the ARF body.   Just a tip some may want to hear:   The fine lines on the armor of Kit and the Green Rex you can see in the corner of the Boomer photo; I use a pencil to sketch those lines on the armor, then paint over them.

Also another close up of one of Cloneheads resin heads, with a mohawk added, for the Boomer head.  I love those heads and now that I can finally (sort of) paint the eyes halfway decent, I plan to nab more.

That's a good tip on painting those straight lines. I will have to try that sometime. Tamer beat me to the fp on your update. I was waiting for better pics.
I have read several techniques about painting eyes but I start out with the whites and then go for the pupil. Once you get those how you like, you can touch up around the outside with a darker color and then the flesh color.

Your eyes look fine to me. What did you use to build up the mohawk?

Hi CH  - For that mohawk I used paintable fabric paint which is very thick and can be made into shapes.  It cures kinda soft which makes it very easy to carve into other shapes after curing time.

Oh yeah, I understood that as well. I had started to do one using the casting of the bigger snowtrooper helmet as a base with the face mask of a casted aotc clone for this but it has been sitting on the backburner for a while.

So you say that the very first release of the removable snowtrooper helmet was more narrow in the lower face covering part?
I would love to cast one of these and like the one on the first page of this thread, the most.

I may have to try to cobble one together using your instructions and see what happens.

How long have you been selling customs on ebay?
hey Clint, I finally figured out where the more narrow snow trooper helmet came from . . . . it is the 30th ann. tin snowtrooper with the removable helmet.
