Welcome to the Yards Ironhide.
I follow your work over on Rebelscum & it's great to see you here.

That Grievous Assault Squad looks incredible. When I saw these fellas over at RS, It persuaded me to try some boil & pop & I ended up with my 501st ARF Trooper.

Keep up the good work mate!

Wow, that is sweet. Nice tutorial. Welcome to the Yards. Geesh, I hope you like Legacy figs too!

Not a legacy fan. I'm sucked into The Clone Wars TV show and it's a lot of fun seeing all the new clones and characters. I'm already stretching the limits of the number of toys a grown man should own.  ;D As is, my wall space is getting crowded. I even started painting Warhammer 40K marines in clone armor. I have Rex and Cody space marines.

Hi All,

First post here. Clonehead invited me on here and suggested that I share some of my custom work. I'll start it off with my most recent. A simple custom Rex. ARF trooper hips and a new style helmet. In the future, this one is getting a soft goods kama with some Jek holsters.

This is awesome! I missed this when I first read your thread Ironhide.
Gotta say this is EXACTLY how Rex in 3 & 3/4" form should look, you've nailed this guy dead on! I am very jealous.

I have separate molds for each strap. I run a thin copper wire inside the strap for added strength and to tie it off like with a loop on one end and a hook on the other.

Hevy. Sold this one too. That is a home made rotary cannon. I only made three and then the mold broke.... I love the weathered helmet on this guy.

Now you are showing some of the stuff that I remember seeing when they were for sale. Very nice work and attention to detail, there. That Stone was always one of my favorites and the weathering like you did on Hevy, is just the right amount to be very convincing. I remember seeing that Neyo and still want to hear a quick tutorial on that helmet.  You have mentioned molds a couple of times. I wonder, are you using the same casting products that some of us are?

welcome to the yards and awesome customs! I love the work and that water slide decal technique is very cool!

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?
