Planet Comicon Kansas City 2010
« on: January 19, 2010, 08:35:59 AM »
http://www.planetcomicon.com/

I just read the announcement that this year, Planet Comicon will be held from March 27th through the 28th at the Overland Park International Trade Center in OP KS. So far, the only Star Wars guest scheduled is Tom Kane, the voice of Yoda in the Clone Wars animated series. More guests may be announced in the future.

Like last year, I plan on attending this event.

Sweet! Take us lots of pics! I already know you will though. I wonder what SW goodies you will find. Am I correct in that you made a micronaut haul last year?

No, actually, I got a couple of vintage Marvel Micronaut comic issues autographed by artist, Michael Golden.
Last year's SW haul centered around a 3 for $10 saga figure deal, plus, I got some rare 12" figures at a great price.

I also got Tom Kane's and Peter Mayhew's autographs.

I can't seem to find the thread I made for last year's event.

That's gonna be awesome!  You two make sure to get some good pictures and even better deals on toys!  If C2E2 wasn't so close to that date, I'd think about going myself!

Yepper, if we get enough good shots we could do an image gallery and replace the toyfair galleries on the front page. Ofcourse those pages have to be made.

I am fairly disappointed in myself though. I forgot my camera when I left this morning I was so excited. There was so much stuff there. I only walked away though as I said the autographs and a blockbuster value pack from 2008 with a Jawa and 327th Clone. Really impressive costumes, I was surprised to see the Mando mercs and Sandtroopers.com there though. There was lots of Star Wars stuff there, most of it too expensive for my blood. I wanted the sideshow clones, but for 200 dollars a peice I had to pass. Great time all around.

Squirepec, I was looking for you but would have had a hard time finding you in that crowd. I even had some resin parts in my pocket with your name on em.
The wife and I walked into the event around 11:00 and man, was it packed. Just walking around was difficult because of the crowd. Lines of various sizes formed up in front of the celebreties tables to meet, greet, and get photo ops and autographs. In attendance this year were, Tom Kane (Yoda), Matthew Wood (General Grevious), and Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano), all voice actors for the Clone Wars animated series. Mira Furlan (Dannielle Rousseau from Lost) and Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk TV series) were also there, as was a whole gaggle of comic book artists including Star WArs ARtists Dave Dorman, Cat Skaggs and Cynthia Martin. Micheal Golden was also there. Costuming members of the 70th Garrison of the 501st, the Heart of the Alliance, The Rebel Legion, and the Mandalorian Mercs were also there. The usual array of vendors were back again and I picked up a few trinkets, a couple of episode 1 figs, a mighty mugg, and an FAO Schwarz Exclusive set of 12 inch figures, all for fair to budget prices. The wifey had a good time at this, her first ever comic book convention and really dug all of the costumes. At this point, I think that talking her into letting me get a set of clone trooper armor would be more possible."I'll take one of those sets of shadow scout armor, please"

How about some pics?
