Nice work with converting a Cobra gunship into a space freighter.

I have a couple questions about the Cobre gunship and hope you can answer them.

1.  How big is the toy?   What is its overall length and height?

2.  Do figures fit well inside it?  On the box, the figure in the picture seems crammed in the cockpit area.  Also, what about the the cargo area?  Can figures fit back there?

I'm asking all of this because I've seen a ton of these just sitting on the shelves in my area.  I see a lot of possibilities with this ship but, I don't want to get it if it isn't big

enough for my needs.  Your pictures make it difficult to determine its size.  And, that is a compliment to your photoshop skills.  I don't see a Cobra toy,  I see an old

space freighter.  Good job

I'm away from home, obviously, so I can't accurately answer your questions, but I can help out in general.  The ship is roughly 12" OAL and something like 5-6" high.  I think I have a pic of one with a fig beside it in one of my threads.

No.  I'm planning on reworking the cockpit on mine so the figures sit in it better.  As for fig's in the cargo bay, again, not really.  They don't sit up well on the interior bench-seat at all.  Again, I plan to rework this area, too.

I gotta agree - that's some fabulous pic-work!  Still, if you can get the gunships on clearance, snap them up.  You'll figure something out.

Great repaint Squire! You should get a small brush and touch up the spots with blue showing through. Then I would prepare a wash and go over the vehicle to bring out the sculpted detail that is hiding. Even if you want the ship"clean" I would do the wash andd wipe most of it off leaving it in the cracks. Still a good repaint just trying to help make it look more real.

Yeah luke I know. After I snapped the pics I thought the blue wasn't that noticable. Then I posted them and I'm like oh my gosh. Thats awful. But yeah I think I'll do what you suggested and wash it. It needs the character. THANKS!!

Squire, great custom, I love the combination of figure and vehicle, very cool! You are always improving.

Don;t take this as a criticism, but if you want to up your game, you need to invest in some Tamaya masking tape and liquid mask...Also check out some of the testors model painting videos on Youtube, it might give you some interesting tips...

I agree on buying quality masking tape!  I used cheap scotch tape this week to mask a canopy.  It worked...but - well, you get what you pay for.  Using a masking tape to generate crisp paint demarcations where you want them makes you feel like a king when you go back and look at your work.  (I've been building models for 30 years - good lord! - and am nowhere close to where I could be, but it is all about having fun and helping each other and enjoying the snot outta watching friends improve!)
