Hot Toys 1/6 Interrogator Droid joined my Imperial collection - special thanks to a Rebelscum member :) The HT ANH Vader is a very cool figure, has the most accurate 1/6 helmet so far, but still has some issues like the weirdly positioned electronics and uninspired gloved hands. So I passed on it easily (though waiting for a HT ROTJ Vader reveal), but still wanted to get the Interrogator Droid that came with this Vader figure.

Glad you were able to get what you wanted without having the buy something you didn't want.

The original stand/base for the Hot Toys 1/6 Interrogator Droid was kinda cheaply made, out of some soft plastic to look like the Hot Toys Death Star grate stands. But kinda poorly made, flimsy and wobbly. So I took an old Sideshow round stand that came with a 1/6 Jedi Training Remote, made a bigger hole in it and inserted the clear supporting rod from the Interrogator Droid. Glued it inside (the SSC stand has a back lid you can open) with epoxy glue and then added metal pellets (glued as well) to give it weight. Looks better than what HT made: the round base is smaller, it is sturdy and more elegant.

Recently the supposedly long lost ANH Darth Vader mask has been discovered in the collection of Patrice Girod. This is his book (in French) about the screen used costumes, props, models he owns:

I also did a tiny upgrade on the helmet. Years ago when I got my TE2 Stormie lid from a US 501st member, he also included a set of solid welding lens next to the accurate flimsy acetate ones, so you can put up the one you like more. I had stored the green welding lens inside a big bin with all my parts and greeblies, but now I took it out and put it behind the acetate lens on the RS helmet.

This way if touching the lens they don't get pushed back in the helmet. I could have kept only the welding lenses, since you cannot tell there is a difference unless you touched them, but I preferred to have them both, the acetate on the outside for display and the solid plastic ones on the inside for toughness.

For the mannequin, using both lenses was my best choice - accidentally I pushed the acetate inside the helmet and I had to take the helmet off completely to fix the lens. Now if you look up front you see the acetate lenses, but behind them there is the welding ones that don't let the acetate be pushed inside. :)
